Yesterday people were saying that if Hatton tries to hit and hold it would play to Castillo's strengths. Now they are saying that it gave Hatton an unfair advantage.

I don't have a problem with the clinching and wrestling, as long as they're throwing punches on the inside while doing it. That's pretty much what was happening. I thought the fight was pretty good while it lasted, especially the 3rd round. What you don't want is a guy that throws one punch, and ties up the fighter so neither can throw and the ref has to break them up.

glad to know all you brits dont know what boxing is. it is illegal but huggies gets away with it read the rules to boxing. keep your english garbage(hatton) in england. if someone lowered an elbow to hattons jaw and knocked him out you would be crying and that is illegal but you dont count when hatton uses illegal moves to win. HYPOCRISY, as for castillo holds yeah when someone is holding you you have to hold them back to keep yourself from falling over. Tyson made a career out of hugging opponents. He also used to elbow them in the face along the ropes.

In the DOuglas fight Tyson hugged more than all of Hattons fights combined.

CLINCHING IS ILLEGAL no one can argue that but why? This is why clinching is an illegal move, when hatton comes forward and inside the other fighter has to prepare themselves to support hattons clinch. most of the time hatton clinches but sometimes he throws punches right before coming into the clinch thus catching the other fighter off guard. It is a mental tactic against the other fighter. It is the equivalent of hitting on the break thus illegal. If the ref didnt allow clinching to happen the other fighter wouldnt have to differenciate between when a clinch and punch is thrown. Hatton is an illegal fighter and needs to be banned from boxing asap or at least suspended for about 50 years and fined his purse for the fight. castillo does something illegal such as coming in overweight and they suspend and fine him. hatton does something illegal inside the ring and he gets off scott free with no deductions in his entire career. i've seen enough of him please keep him off tv and away from legal boxing venues. Please don't allow cheaters to prosper in this great sport and boycott hatton. If you support hatton you dont support boxing.

If what you are saying is true then why wasn't it stopped by the ref?

I thought that Hatton was able to get away with his hugging style becuase he always had hometown advantage?

I can recall many on here stating that he would never get away with it in the States, well his last three fights have been in the States and he hasn't changed his style in anyway???

Lets take a stab in the dark and say that although its not exactly the gospel according to the Marquis of Queensberry it is an acceptable style of infighting and you lot just cannot accept that.

I would rather see a guy fight with his heart on his sleave and try to please the fans than run and potshot his way to a UD regardless of how pretty his boxing is.
