  • This IBO Bull**** Needs To STOP

please, God, dont let the IBO become a legitimate belt. we boxing fans are tortured enough to have to recognize the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO as legitimate titles. God, please dont let the boxing world recognize another one...

first, it was lennox lewis, then wlad. now vic, adamek, and hatton are now IBO champions. the IBO is starting to get announced in prefight introductions like its a real belt. the introductions is going to create the snowball effect. an soon, people will actually think the IBO is a real title to be sought after. there are now 5 titles (WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, The Ring) in each division and the WBO has interim champions and the WBA has super champions, regular champions, interim regular champions (see the cruiserweight division). this madness must end.

this is the major thing thats killing boxing: the sanctioning bodies. now, the IBO is starting to squirm its ugly ass onto the scene now. when you say boxing isnt dead or dying, look at how many champions we have, look at how many belts there are, look at how many sanctioning bodies there are, and look at who controls the "champions" and see just how bad the situation is. boxing isnt just dying, its trying to kill itself. if this keeps up, there will be so many "legit" belts that there will never ever be another real true undisputed champion. unifying will become an even bigger nightmare than it already is.

God, i ask that You intervene and stop this foolish madness. i ask You because at this point, no1 else can or will end this chaos.

I agree. I hope they don't make it a legit belt.
I think the Tarver/Hopkins fight was also for the IBO.

Pretty soon it's going to be a recognize belt.

Who gives a **** if the IBO is a "legit" belt? It is every bit as legit as the WBO, WBA, WBC, and IBF. They all mean the same amount to me in terms of the weight they carry with their champions-- that is to say, exactly ****. They are all a damn joke. Every alphabet belt in the world could be a belt that fighters coveted after and I wouldn't give a ****. The only real'ish one is the ring belt. Is that to say that there aren't better was of doing it? Hell no! Ring belt has its flaws also. But is it worlds better than all of the alphabet bull**** and a huge step in the proper direction? Yes. It is.

All these websites that claim to love the sport of boxing should get on board with that **** regardless of their own rankings, because by supporting the alphabet organizations they hurt the sport as much as the alphabet organizations themselves.

belts won't keep boxing alive. infact with 4 belts it keeps more people interested if their fighter has one. i like unification fights and admire champions with 2 or 3 belts.

we just need more fights to be very exciting. the boxers themselves need to reach out to their community and get people interested. as boxing takes out a lot their are boxers who have months off so also its not a regular thing as your favourite football team playing a game each week for example.

i agree there are way too many belts, but boxers train hard as **** to gain belts like that so i aint gonna diss it, i would give my life for that belt, just hope he unifies it
