were you not disappointed with JLC though Mik? i wanted hatton to have a good test and castillo was out of the fight from the first round. He looked slower, less powerful, less skilled, and threw less punches. he even got outfought on the inside which was the part that really surprised me.

I said elsewhere that whereas Castillo's performance detracts from the win for Hatton, the manner of the victory almost makes up for it. I give hatton as much credit for this win as I do Floyd for instance in beating Castillo by 2 decisions (one debateable).

So its a good win for Ricky and boosts his flimsy resume somewhat.

I would've liked to see a longer fight, so I was disappointed with that. But I hold no blame for Hatton nor Castillo for that. Hatton was the better man, more prepared and took him out with a brutal shot that would've taken any version of Castillo from over the years out. Sure, against a prime Castillo he might not have had the opportunity to land that shot, but you only beat what is put in front of you.

Castillo is generally a slow starter. I thought he was coming into the fight more by the third round.

Maybe he was slightly more competitive in the third- but he was being bullied and it was a round to Hatton IMO, even though Setanta has it for Castillo. Hatton was dictating the pace and castillo didn't like it, hence the blows falling lower and lower.

yeah shame on castillo for cheating and throwing 2 borderline low blows unlike hatton who cheated the whole fight by holding but then again he does that every fight so that makes it ok?

yeah your absolutely right, he was a real warrior, and that bodyshot was terrible. I respect him very much, and even if he seems getting old, i'm sure he has got at least one great fight in him

Thats right. Its always the ref's fault, or the other fighter's fault...its never just that the better man won and as such deserves credit for that.
