And also shot, worn down, and aged. Why is it that Hatton can not seem to take on a fighter any where near their prime? There are plenty of quality fights at 147 for him. Please tell me guys like Williams are ducking him.
hatton is an HBO media fighter which means he is there to draw in the hispanic and white fight fans. due to hatton's hold and hit style the fight with floyd will be a tough sell. remember this is all business, there was no way castillo was going to win tonight, too much money in a black vs white fight.
It was a great shot, and he put up a good fight, but he still holds far too much now. I dont get it because he doesnt have to.
Yeah thats why it pisses me off so much, he doesn't need to. I've said before I see no problem fighters clinching when they are in trouble but again Hatton was holding after landing a good combo. i feel its like smoking, once you start its hard to stop, but I think his all round performance is being harmed at the moment with this holding.

Style...not race played into why tonights fight happened.
you gotta give it to hatton. won fair and square. he bullied the bully as one poster said. castillo was way much bigger than hatton. castillo held as much as hatton. it's not hatton's fault if castillo looked aged in their fight, that excuse came up only after this fight. props to hatton.
Yep and 31-0 too. And after he dismantles margarito, who is in his prime by the way, what exscuse will hatton have?
First off you're asking the wrong guy.
I'm not a Hatton fan, anyone on this forum will tell you that. I've never once defended him. I was pointing out that he knocked perhaps my favorite fighter out with 1 single punch to the body.
I'm defending the idea of people crediting that shot.
DLH had been on the canvas at least 5 times before that.
Castillo has never been knocked down as a pro until that single punch.
He would have been on the Canvas if the ref hadn't intervened in the first fight with Corrales. Hatton may be top shelf I don't know yet, but beating Castillo after his last fight with Herman Ngoudjo was not going to prove it once and for all for me. Having said that he is certainly number one in his weight class and no one in the Light Welterweights will beat him. His choice is now to stay in that division and dominate for as long as he wants, or move up and take on the top dogs for big money.
that bullsit wasnt impressive. why does the ****ing ref allow hatton to hold so ****ing much. all he does is bulldog and hold his opponents arms then hits him. BULL****!
I wasnt impressed either. Castillo caught Hatton w/a nice right uppercut that stunned him...not sure if Castillo knew cuz he didnt jump on him.
Its official Cortez is on the take...1st Nady...now Cortez. There was way too much holding. Hatton clocked him in the back of the head and Cortez didnt say anything. But Cortez "see's" a low blow from behind and calls it. You cant see a low blow from behind.
With all that aside...props to Hatton.
Is he donating some part of his purse to Mrs. Diego? If not, hes got no biz kissing her.
