    Hatton's Power Measured

Scientists tried to measure the punching power of boxing world champion Ricky Hatton at the University of Manchester. The data found the figure was about 400kg (882lb) - still 10 times that of an average person.

Engineers used alternative data and looked at previous studies to prove that Hatton hit the target with an instantaneous force of 400kg (882lb) - close to half a US tonne. A US tonne - or short ton - equals 2,000lb (907.19kg).

Measuring the forces applied in football studies, the team also worked out that Hatton's average punching force is more than twice the kicking force of a Premier League footballer.

    ---------------------------------

Castillo will feel half a tonne punch each time, looks like its lights out for Castillo.

Ok, whatever. He don't got 1 punch KO power so that means the 800 range is pretty weak. They should measure his hugging strength. Just how much is he sapping from his opponent? It's like a vice grip!

I wonder if one punch power has as much to do with concussive impulse as all that. Tszyu's right hand was more of a one-shot knockout than, say, Cotto's left hook, but does it generate more force?

10 times your average person? I don't believe what was posted.

Your average person hits between 250 and 350 lb's of pressure PSI.

Dude Marciano's "Suzie Q" was measured @ a US military facility and Rocky hit 925. Hatton hits as hard as Marciano but cant crack a egg?

More UK BULL****...there I said it.

They tested this **** on Discovery Channel too.
They compared a Taekwondo kick vs Karate punch, vs boxer vs Thai boxer

The boxer, a middleweight nobody, punched a little over 400kg.
3 times more powerfull than the Karate punch (as expected)
But the Thai knee was around 700 kg I think...

And yes, a Tszyu right hand will generate more force than a Cotto left hook, because you've got the whole bodyweight behind it and moving forward.
