This fight is definatly happening in November. People are saying that Floyds scared and he's retiring at the right time but thats garbage. Floyd was officialy retired for about a month and a half but you can tell now that he's going to fight. Roger pretty much guaranteed a fight in November the whole time and even Zab said that Floyd & Shane are fighting.
Just listen to Floyd. 1st he said he's definatly retired, then he'll come back for a Oscar rematch but thats it, then he will maybe fight Tito, then its back to only Oscar, and now he's finally talking about a Shane match. At 1st he wouldnt even care to talk about Shane and would only say that he had his chance but now you can see that he's starting to talk about the money of the fight and so on.
I do think Floyd was getting tired of fighting and the criticism but he got that itch back. He has all these other new things going on but the guy is a fighter at the end of the day. Its like retired athelets always say. Alot of them are doing these other business ventures and owning or running teams but it never beats the rush of walking into that arena with thousands of fans going crazy. Floyd liked doing all that other stuff for awhile but he knows that boxing is still where his heart is. Think about it; you think he can watch a boxing match or UFC fight without getting hyped and wanting to do something? No way he could sit through something like that while he's still in his prime and not want to fight. No matter what he says, he definatly watched that Zab-Cotto fight. Its ****** that people says he's scared of Cotto when you know thats not even Floyd's personality. I bet anything he started watching that fight and it got his juices running and then his whole house was jumping around talking about what they would do to Cotto. You can just picture it.
Alot of people say Floyd got scared of what he saw from Cotto. You know that doesnt make sense. I bet Floyd loved what he saw from Cotto and the 1st thing that came to his mind is that Cotto can maybe turn into another Tito and they could have a big money mega fight next year. Cotto's PR, young, & undefeated. Thats a Mayweather dream but he knows its not right yet. He's hoping that the Zab fight will turn him into a star and that Cotto can do big PPV numbers in his next fight in which he hopes that he will KO Margarito or someone. Imagine how big that fight would be if Cotto KO Margarito and Floyd beat Shane? You could see Floyd and them watching a UFC fight and getting hyped and then Floyd standing up saying, "Shane dont wanna see me". "Im going to fight that Motha ****a". Floyd is also kind of a hyper dude so you know he cant just sit around doing buisness stuff. He also loves to gamble. That tells you right there that he needs that rush.
The fact is Floyd still has it in him and so does Shane. Shane might have his bad days but you can tell that he wasnt prepared to hang them up just yet. Both will have some money words back & forth over the next month and then both will make some concessions and this fight will happened in November. Floyd wants big money so that only means big fights are left for him. Right now Shane is the biggest money fight for him. This fight will be super. I can just picture them face to face in the press confernce. For the 1st time Floyd will be looking in the face of somone who has that solid man face looking back and him and a guy who really believes he can beat Floyd and match him in every way. It will be awesome because Floyd has never fought anyone like Shane and Shane has never fought anyone like Floyd. This will be a exciting fight. We'll finally get to see what Floyd can do against a guy who can match him with speed, has electric power, is a tough minded guy, and has been there and done that. Im also excited because I think Floyd's body looked great against Oscar and this will be the 1st fight where he will be nearly a full blown WW. I think he looks much different in this fight then is his previous fights at 147 and you will be able to somewhat make fair comparisons between him and SRL or Hearns
Floyd will win because he's the more complete fighter and he makes better adjustments. Some of the best fighters of this era by far are Floyd, Winky, Hopkins, and Toney. They are all complete fighters, are all mentally tough, all have great chins, and all have great defenses. When are people going to understand that its hard to beat those type of fighters. Its nearly impossible. You guys always get caught up with the spectacular offensive guys & power guys but they nearly always get exposed when they run up on a complete fighter with great defense. There super exciting while these guys can be boring sometimes but who wins? Its just like the Spurs in the NBA. Guys like Shane will always look better but they'll never win a head to head matchup. Shane has great speed & power but he throws wide punches. Floyd thows straight shots. He will always beat him to the punch. We also know that Floyd may get hit with a few clean punches but for the most part he will block all of them. Im not talking about the normal blocks either. Im talking about the one's were Shane scores with big hooks but there still just partially blocked. He will have alot of them. They will be solid but Floyd's punches will always look more devastating as he's blocking and then will shoot back with blistering counters that the No D Shane cant stop. Thats how the whole fight will go. Floyd will guard and then counter all night. Another big thing is that he's a little taller then Shane and a good inch taller then Cotto. He hardly ever is the taller guy and usually kills when he is. It makes him even harder to beat when he's over you and throwing shots down at you
