Hehe. Sorry mate, missed that bit of your post.

There's nobody between 160 and 175 that I think would beat him, so I'd have said JC regardless of his age.

I'd have gone with Guzman too if he didn't have Pac looming. The fight's too close to call for me to choose him.

Funk how do you think Dawson would do against Calzaghe? I think that's the one fight ole Joe could lose.

He did cross my mind as I was posting that.

TBH, I've been a bit **** at acquainting myself with some of the prospects recently (been working like a dog and seem to have a stag party or wedding to go to every other weekend) so I've only seen a little bit of Chad and can't really form an opinion on him yet. I keep hearing good things about him and he looked promising from the clip that I saw. Can't remember who he was fighting though.

I need to see a bit more of Bute and the kid at LWW too. Bute's another one who could potentially take Cal's "0" if the timing's right.

          You rate Dawson then?

            I rate Dawson, yes.

I'm not a fan of Bute; he looked good in some clips I saw but the Bika performance was less than I hoped for.

Dawson's performance against Adamek is still top performance of the year, in my opinion, with the possible exception of Pavlik's against Miranda. But Adamek is comparatively slow. It's hard for me to picture a Calzaghe-Dawson fight. But it's the one that doesn't seem like an obvious beatdown.

Bute's always looked good when I've seen him. I've not caught the Bika fight yet but he's a horrible opponent for most fighters, I'd say.

I'll stick the Adamek fight on my list.

The problem is Dawson gets knocked down in the fight (I think tenth round, after sweeping the first nine). He was also knocked down in his previous fight, so there may be a problem there.

But he could be undefeated longer than the rest of the guys on this list, because he's not going to fight Calzaghe and I don't see the senior citizens at 175 beating him.

Is he getting shaken up or are they just flash KDs?

The oldies aren't going to get any more active with age so I'd imagine he'd be able to see them off on work rate alone if he's as good as people say. Hopkins would obviously make it tough for him though.

I guess you could call the last one a flash KD, but it was a clean hard right hand, not a fluke. He seemed in control of his sense and he responded well. After that he he hugged a bunch, but not out of desperation. He packed it in and gave away the last couple rounds.
