Looks like it is Bas Rutten training him there. Couldn't ask for a better trainer. I don't know how Mercer would go if they end up on the ground. I see it over in the first round, either Mercer KO's him early from a punch, or Kimbo submits him on the ground. Bas Rutten would have emphasised on that in training, as he knows he will never outbox or outslug mercer.

I knew Kimbo would make him submit. Bas Rutten training him... Bas would never send him in there to out slug him.

i'm pretty sure mercer is going to win by a brutal KO. i mean if this were boxing wouldn't kimbo be considered a complete bum? there are taxi drivers with 6-125 records that have fought better opposition then kimbo LOL. mercer's only been in there with holyfield, lewis, morrison, klitschko, etc. no disrespect but im sayin this would be considered a huge mismatch in boxing. its not going to make a big difference that they're in the MMA because neither of them are 'ground specialists' and kimbo isnt going to master that in 2 weeks with that bas guy. so yeah, mercer by KO

Kimbo beat his ass. Mercer was expecting a stand up fight. When Kimbo ran in and tied him up it was over. Unfortunatly we didnt get to see Mercer attempt more than one punch. Kimbo threw a nice combo when Mercer was falling back against the cage.

i admit when im wrong, im not gonna run away like a *****. it shocked me that kimbo won. kimbo had a great gameplan to jump on mercer from the bell and he caught mercer off guard. unfortunately we didnt get to see mercer do much because he was bumrushed from the beginning. had he been able to weather the storm and fire back a shot or 2 the outcome may have been different. kimbo did his thing though and proved me wrong.

Seriously, now you understand he's OLD and not the guy who ko'd Morrison or almost beat Lewis. I've seen a lot of things, but favoring a man 10 years ago against a fighter you dislike is funny.

i still would pick mercer in a rematch. why? kimbo caught him offguard, plain and simple. props to kimbo for using the 'shock and awe' strategy and it being successful, but had mercer been prepared (and not an idiot, he should have been ready from the bell) then the fight probably would have been different. no one is saying this is the mercer that fought Lewis, of course hes old. but the last thing to go is power, and mercer had that to spare.

i mean, kimbo was all over him in seconds. i dont even think mercer got to throw a punch. in a rematch i don't think he'd be so ****** to get jumped on from the bell. just my 2 cents
