Why are they marketing this as a "street fight". MMA has been trying to clean up its image for a while now and this type of crap sets it back fifteen years.

This fight is an MMA fight. Kimbo Slice has been training with Bas Rutten for a while (about a year or so now). Kimbo has been workin his ass off and has learned the ground game and much more. I don't know what Ray has been doing, but this won't be easy for either of them.

Are you sure about this? Until about a month or so ago Bas was the coach for one of the IFL teams. I would figure that he spent alot of time working with them.

He has trained only about 2 weeks with Bas so far and one week with Shawn. The rest of the time was at FFA in Florida with the same guys that trained him his boxing skills for his streetfights over the last 2 years.

He actually said "one of the best". If you read the whole quote, he never mentions skill. He says Kimbo listens well, he pushes himself, he is respectful, etc.

I'm not dissing Kimbo, just saying he is no A-level mma fighter. We will know more after the Mercer fight, assuming it's on the up-and-up.
