    Lucian Bute v Sakio Bika

I know the result of this fight but dont know any details, how did the fight go style wise? ,Was it close?,who seemed the stronger man? and how did this compare to Calzaghe's performance against Bika?

The fight was only similar to the Calzaghe fight in the first four rounds - after that Bute gradually took control and won a decisive victory. Bika was almost KOed in the 11th round.

      Cheers for the reply.
Sounds like a good win for Bute,Bika is tough but a bit sloppy at times with his technique. Was it won on workrate?

You missed that? If you read what most people wrote about the fight, KeyboardWarrior, you would find that they saw the fight the same way I did. Bute was in control after the 4th round, it wasn't close. It was scored a wide UD because it was a wide UD.

How do you rate Bute's progress Canada joe? I cant see him fighting Calzaghe,i see Joe beating Kessler then moving to light heavy. Is Bute the future of the super middleweight division.Im not saying anyone will be ducking each other,i just think the timing for these two to fight is off.

So you're telling me Bute lands a hard straight left which snaps Bika's head back and he was almost KO'ed?

One I read at FB had "Bute overcomes Bika" and another "Bute wins by decision over game Bika"

The first 5-6 rounds were pretty much gimmie rounds, Bute swept the rest, I admit the scores should have been a bit closer than 118-109, and Bika should be suspended for that blatant headbutt.

EVen though Bute has 16ko's on his ledger, watching the Bika fight it was hard to see how that could be, to claim Bika was on the verge of being KO'ed is ludicrous considering this was a televised fight

I think Bute should fight Berrio for the IBF title since he is the mandatory now. Although I'm still not confident he would defeat Calzaghe or Kessler, he's probably better than Berrio.

There's five really good fighters at super middleweight, well above the rest: Inkin, Froch, Calzaghe, Kessler and Bute. When Miranda, Taylor, Pavlik and maybe Wright move up, there's going to be a LOT of great battles.

bute looked like he couldnt pull the trigger all night. the only thing i can figure is that bika spooked him.
yes by the forth round bute caught on and started using his jab to set up the straight left from the outside. and by the fourth bute started to circle in the correct direction for his leftyness.before he was circling to the left against the ortho bika right into bikas right hand.
bika using his headbutting skills may have made this contender prospect so tentative with his punches.
