I thought Paulie won the fight very comfortably (I only gave N'Dou one round) but the action of the fight seemed closer than the scores would suggest. I thought N'Dou did a decent job of finding Malignaggi, and there really wasn't much more he could do against a quicker, better skilled boxer like Malignaggi.

I don't see a huge reason for an immediate rematch, but I thought it was a good fight and a rematch would probably be entertaining as well, even if Paul won a lopsided decision again.

I agree. I felt Love did a decent job and I did not think the scores were too accurate, although it was obviouc Paul won.

even though there is a rematch clause in their contract, last time i checked fighters had a rematch because their first fight was very exciting, closely contested, or desired by the fans. Ndou/Malignaggi was one of the most one sided fights I've ever seen, it was exciting (because Paulie kept comboing Ndou's ass), and no rematch is needed or desired by the fans. He is an absolute idiot for requesting a rematch. This is the bad karma coming back on Ndou for all that trash talking he did. Only talk trash if you can back it up.

Although the ref did a bad job (point deduction was bs, KD was real), the fight was not close enough to warrant a rematch. N'Dou failed to cut off the ring when Malignaggi moved and there is no excuse that he was running. Malignaggi was sticking and moving and simply beating him to the punch. N'Dou is a good tough fighter and he'll be in with another meaningful opponent soon.

i think that ndou should get a rematch, the ref job was bull****, it was only one half of a fight, it was all outside fighting, eddie cotton did not let ndou fight on the inside at all, he didn't let either fighter fight on the inside, even when paulie was working on the inside cotton stopped the action.

outside is paulies game and inside fighting is ndou's game and it was taken away from him.

he does deserve rematch with a ref that will let them fight. i'm not saying that he would've won but it would've been a better fight. a hell of a lot closer, and we would've seen malignaggi having to dig down harder to pull out the win.

i'm the biggest critic when it comes to malignaggi, i don't like him, but he fought a hell of a fight. he followed what his corner had to say, he used his jab effectively and he fought instead of ran and pot shotted. i give malignaggi respect, that and for how he conducted himself like a true professional.

but the fact remains there was only one aspect of fighting allowed in this fight, and that was outside fighting ONLY! ndou is an inside fighter, eddie cotton is a terrible referee, he was stopping fight action, he's supposed to stop clinching, there was no clinching, he was stopping any and all inside fighting.

had that been smoger or weeks or bayless, it would've been a totally different fight, i can't say it would be a different outcome but it would've been a closer and better action fight.

how can you wear your opponent out whenever you get close to him, the ref pulls you away, separates you, and makes you fight to try and get inside again, and then the ref breaks you up over and over again.

like i said before there were more " stops! " called out by the ref than there were power punches in the fight.

props to paulie because he got to fight his fight but he was shielded by the ref. if paulie does or is going to fight hatton he better bring cotton with him to keep hatton off him, because hatton is coming inside all fight long.

also to note, had eddie cotton refereed castillo-corrales, we would have never got to see a great fight because he would've been breaking them up whenever they were fighting on the inside, which is the only place they fought the whole entire fight!!!!!!!!!!!

eddie cotton is by far the worst ref in the business.

N'dou got outclassed last night plain and simple. I agree that rabbit punch shouldn't have resulted in a loss of points for N'Dou, but that wouldn't have made a difference and either would have that KD. Paulie kept him at range all night long with that jab and drilled him with combinations whenever he got close. It was a boxing clinic and unfortunately for N'dou he was the helper not the instructor.

That was one of the top 5 worst Ref jobs I've ever winessed but I don't think it affected the output at all. I had N'Dou winning one round. And, while it's true that the ref separated them a bit prematurely a few times, he did do a good job of waiting until N'Dou grabbed one of Paulie's arms before separating them. I only saw two times in the whole fight where the ref broke them up and N'Dou wasn't clinching at the time (which is illegal, in case someone doesn't know that).

I hope I never see that ref again but I don't think it had an effect on the outcome.

Paulie needs to fight the winner of Hatton / Castillo next.

I was thinking this Ref is HORRIBLE all the time I was watching the fight. Even in the begining when he was breaking "clinches" he would just call it out and not physically get in there. What the hell is that about. He never let N'Dou work the inside when he finally made it inside. The point deduction was horrible...........I hope to never see Cotto ref again.

paulie killed him maybe if he had one four rounds and gotten a knockdown he could ask for a rematch i doubt anyone who saw that fight had him winning

i wished n'dou would leave it alone. malignaggi may be tempted to fight a rematch just to keep that hoaky belt for the statis.
a mali/hatton fight just makes sense. who doesnt want to see that. and way bigger money there.
