Easy.. he went to the bank and said "i'm amir khan and eventually i will get a million pound fight" and they gave him a whopping business loan.

Amir Khan is almost certain to be a millionaire and if not....at the very least the bank would know that Khan would be no threat in terms of not being able to pay it back. Especially if this gym is sucessful.

Besides, i can imagine he would have quite a bit of cash floating about, you forget about his sponsership deals with reebok.

The bloke could easily get 700k.

As for the rest - i think he is over-rated. But good on him, for giving something back to the community. On the flip side.... if Khan can start producing pro's from his gym he could easily begin to start making money too. Especially if his brother becomes part of his team (his brother is allegedly better than Amir). This gym could be part of Khans retirement plan - he's a clever guy, he might have sorted himself a life after being a fighter.
