Watching Malignaggi/N'Dou has a main event in boxing after dark has got me thinking.
Remember when every fight, whether it be B.A.D. or World Championship Boxing, meant something big in the fight game? What have these two done to be showcased on the main event of an HBO Telecast? N'Dou has lost every fight that he's been on a major broadcast network and Malignaggi's biggest fight was a loss to Miguel Cotto. The same holds true with Schew Powell, he dropped a fight to Kassim Ouma so they give him some t.v. time back against Ishe Smith and allow Malignaggi to headline the card against EDNER CHERRY? If it was an ESPN show, I'm fine with it. But HBO is supposed to be for the absolute best in the division.
There was a time when if you lost on HBO, you couldn't count on being back your next time out in most cases. Especially with an opponent who is really nothing "special". Why does HBO allow showcases where the opponent is Lovemore N'dou, Sharmba Mitchell, etc... I'm not knocking these fighters as men, because they are a world-class fighters....just not the world-class fighters that HBO used to show without giving them 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances.
