Former six-division champion Oscar De La Hoya made a decision to continue his career. According to an interview conducted by writer Dan Rafael, Golden Boy Promotion CEO Richard Schaefer revealed that De La Hoya will once again step inside the ring as a fighter, but don't expect a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Jr. The first bout with Mayweather, which took place on May 5 and saw De La Hoya lose a split decision, was the highest grossing fight in the history of the sport, with a $19 million dollar gate, 2.15 pay-per-view buys and grossing over $150 million. What Mayweather say? Quoting here; "It's not a black thing. It's not a white thing. It's a green thing.
Oscar will lose again and still make tons of money and be the fan fav. No one will start to diss him because he's the good guy. The Golden Girl. J/K. Everyone will dog Mayweather and make up reasons, any reason, why he lost.
They'll make more money and that will be the end of it.
They will fight again. Sure they will.

regardless of whether DLH would lose again to Mayweather is pointless. their styles don't play into an exciting action packed fight against each other. people don't and won't buy it again. i wouldn't and i know a lot of other people who think the same. a lot of casual fans that i know said they felt ripped off by that fight and said that the only reason they bought it was the promotion and the name DLH vs Mayweather............ DLH was the bigger of the two names but the fight was hyped to such a magnitude that the way it played out was a big let down. there was more action in the press tour and the promotion than there was in the ring with oscar and floyd. the general population that bought it felt duped. true fans of the sport can appreciate tactical fights and defense, but we are the minority out of who buys PPV's for these kinds of mega fights.
there is no need or reason for a rematch.

Cotto wants DLH for his name and legacy, but DLH said that Cotto is too good for him, not in so many words.
If PBF decides to go and fight DLH he would definitely lose in less than 10; but no point in arguing an impossibility for "Defensive PBF".

no one wants to see floyd run another marathon, besides if floyd ever gets hurt in a fight he will just say his hands hurt. Either way if you pay to see floyd fight expect not to get ur money's worth hahaha.

...the average child gets hit harder by their parents, compared to to the shots floyd landed on oscar.
only thing floyd has goin for him is quick pot shots and fightin older fighters.
