I agree..I know Bute, being a French last name, has a nickname in french that is Le Tremoir, or something like that.....But he's as good as you say
Bute is romanian, and so is his name. His nickname is french, and it's ''Le tombeur'', which have two meaning in french (someone who knocks out people, or someone who have sucess with the ladies).
But he dosen't like his nickname anymore and might change it.
Bute is actually Romanian and has a Romanian last name.
Really?? I guess white Euro is white Euro ...but I did, in my Med Cruise in the NAvy in 1976, meet a french gal name BUTAY...and BUTE is pronounced BUTAY....And the romans and french were the first settlers there...largely why the Romainians have first and last names that are very close sounding as French or Italian. Brings to mind, my wife had a friend from Chile names Anna Lopez, but guess what?? Her GRAND parents were 100 % germans who escaped to Chile, changed their last names to lopez, and this Chile gal named Anna Lopez is actually 100 % good ole white-Euro German...my Dermatoligist has an Argentina born assistant who is 100% pure Hungarian, whose grndparentrs also camr there from Hungary...Also check out basketball Ginobili= italian by blood Argentine by country...**** happens

But the Romanians are a Latin people like the French and Italians, even though they are in Eastern Europe. Their language is more similar to French than it is to the Slavic languages like Russian and Polish.
I've heard of French Canadiens with the last name "Bute" and many Quebec men have the first name "Lucien", very similar to "Lucian".
