after watching the cotto baldomir and mayweather fights.. its obvious judah should be a great fighter but in those 3 fights his game plan is all wrong... hes a puncher and he should be a killer.. he shouldnt be trying to box he should lead with the jab out of his good cross arm defense and rip vicious combos over over and over...p4p he could be the biggest puncher in he sport but he dont use it..he hops around for no reason leaving himself not ready to do anything but let the other guy come foward and he does that dumb shoulder roll **** and tries to throw counter uppercuts and lefts.. trying to counter for no reason .. his father got he right idea zab **** him up and kill him thats the type of fighter he is and he could be great if he could pace him self..
ZAB Judah

He doesn't have the chin to be exposed too long in harms way. Once a fighter starts doubting his own chin, it's all downhill... Guess when that happened?
Other than that, you might be right. He's a good puncher, and he's faster than **** too. Zab's jab is really weak and inefficient, so why he's running in rings poking with it... Beats me.
You accuratly pointed out that he should quit that "dumb shoulder roll ****".
If he holds his hand in front of his face, he will not only be covering his ugly mug from jabs and hooks, but he will also cover up his own left hand and thus making it more sneaky.
But it's too late now, he's done for either way. -
Tyson is pretty much on the money with Zab. He's had more than a few chances to change his flaws over his career, don't forget he became a World Champion in 2000 and lost to Tszyu in 2001. He just doesn't have heart, Zab was turning his back on Baldomir and running away.Comment

I agree i think once his chin got checked he was scared to square up but if he stays in his defense and dont poke his head up he wont get caught in the chin.. it dont make sense, hes got a complex and hes probably lost his chanceHe doesn't have the chin to be exposed too long in harms way. I personally do not think so. I do not think he is wasted. The man is 29. He has more than enough talent. His mind is where he is messing up, not his ability or skill. He needs to be cultivated and he needs the right perparation both mentally and physically.
Zab would be a total beast if he were to come into the realization that his stamina needs work. Showboating and dancing does not win fights. (Which I think he is learning.) As well, mental strategy is just as important as physical. IMO.
I think all great fighters have natural talent and ability. It's those who understand how to strategize that have the edge. Those are the true champions. Zab has more talent and ability than most fighters IMO and has the makings STILL of a p4p champ.
If only he could learn when to grow up. That's what paramount because the respect he has now is dangling and while I do not think ruling him out is solid right now, it would take a mental 180 before Zab Judah even got near the top again.
I guess I try to be optimistic. The glass is half full. He has a fighting chance if he'd take this seriously.Comment

Nice post, beaty!
I agree with most of what you're saying. He's biggest problem is his mind.
You can't call it weak, but it is fragile.
There comes a point in most fights where the strategy just isn't working like you planned it. Then you need a plan b. Usually, great fighters have a really great plan b; heart, guts and courage.
Judah, it seems, struggles with constant pressure that simply won't go away no matter how much you hit it. When that happens, you need discipline. Few bullies have ever had any need for discipline, and so they'll never adopt it.
People give him lot of credit for not chicken out in the Cotto-fight, saying that he's got plenty heart.
I'm from the old-school, so I believe in something called honor too.
You can fight your heart out, doing all you can and more, to win.
Or you can fight to survive, not backing out, or just take a beating, to keep your honor.
He's got all the physical tools, and more than nearly any fighter you care to mention. But he's nearly 30 years old now. All those little things he does wrong in the ring today can't be changed at this time.
Nobody who steps in the ring with him now will ever let him breathe or rest, doing their best to make him lose composure.
At this stage, I doubt he'll manage to lose his old habits.Comment
