Carl Froch Still Gunning For Joe Calzaghe

The path to the summit is clearly mapped out for Carl Froch, the future face of world boxing. The Nottingham ‘Cobra’ has three Championship fights in the pipeline, including a challenge for the WBC Title currently held by Mikkel Kessler. [details]

Carl Froch is the future of that division. He'd beat both Calzaghe and Kessler in my opinion.

I like Froch. He'd rule the division when Calzaghe retires. But it's a bit rich for him to criticise anyone's resume.

I think He will RETIRE Calzaghe.. His Punch is too much for ANY super Middle to handle.. His defense is Underated... So are his over all boxing skills..

I agree, he has the style to beat Calzaghe, hes a great counter puncher with crazy power. I could see him knocking Joe out, but saying that Froch hasn't really been in with anyone near world-class, maybe its to early to tell, but i can see him causing big problems if they ever meet, to Calzaghe.

froch's best wins: Brian magee, sergey tatvesosyan.

put him in with some decent fighters before labelling him as the future of the division.

Froch definitley has the potential to become world champ , but its early days for him yet. He needs to fight some better fighters. I'd like to see him in with Jeff Lacy,Marcus Beyer or Dennis Inkin cos fighters like that will be better tests for him and a better reflection of how good he is.

Froch seems to be the next big thing in the SMW division, but like Porlie said he needs to fight some of the other contenders in the division before he gets a shot at Calzaghe. IMO right now Calzaghe would beat him, but with a little more experience he could have a chance.
