    What all time list?

I don't think the Kessler fight will have that much of an impact either way.

Where would he rank amougst the greats? if he beat Kessler where would you rank him all time, top 10, 20, 100. etc,

You can improvise if you like and also tell us where you think he ranks all time as an SM if you like.

dont really know where to place joe in an atg list.. but..

if he beats kessler, then he has cleaned out the division, and is a undefeated, unified and undisputed smw champ that in itself will look good when being compared to other atg.. and it will surely, when the dust settles , be looked at, as a great achievement.. every fighter that has cleaned out their respective divisions, is in my book a great fighter..

Kessler's just more of the same, but at least he'll have unified the division. A win will confirm him as the greatest SMW ever in my eyes. If he can add some names like Nard, Winky and even Taylor then you can start talking about where he belongs in the top 100 ATGs.

100% agree with you mate, its hard to know where to pllace calzaghe on the list of top boxers. BUt if he beats kessler the world will then acknolege the face that calzaghe is a true champ who has cleared his division and stands shoulders above everyone. He is already a great in the uk, this will cement his place internationally.

similar to RJJ legacy of BACO and steroid abuse being set in stone. His career should be deleted from the history books, along with Toney and Evan Fields.

Beating Kessler will only stop everyone from calling Calzaghe the number one dodger in all of boxing. It won't affect his status as an all time great too much because it's probably way too late for him to even think about cracking into that elite group. If he beats Kessler, Taylor, the winner of Wright-Hopkins, then we're talking all time great. He'll fight one of those three tops. That's just who he is. A dodger through and through.

You know, it's funny because even if these guys are responsible for not making fights with Calzaghe now in 2007 and 2008, it doesn't change the fact that Calzaghe dodged opponents for 10 years. Just because you try to make a fight at the end of your career does not make you a respectable champion.

Like I said, beat those three and then we'll talk all time great status. Until then, keep ducking and dodging.

I think Jones and Toney were better at 168 than Joe Calzaghe, fought better fighter, were better fighters themselves.
