I'm pretty much with you from what I've seen of him. There's not a lot of potential there to be successful at the highest level. He looks like a very poor man's Pryor to me.

Lacy is a slow power puncher who can only fight on the inside.

Berto is only a prospect early in his carreer!!

Everyone fights bums early in their early even mayweather even de la hoya everybody.

Of course he's going to step up the competition.

If you are going to bash anyone for fighting bums it should be JCC Jr.!
jcc jr will be spoonfed weak fighters until he is 80-0 then his prospect status will be upped to semi- contender then if he is 100-0 he will become a contender.

hes faster than lacy and unlike lacy, he has a decent jab.

but i think, like lacy, as soon as he fights some1 with a better jab, he'll be dissected.

What I see in Berto that I see in Lacy...

            Headhunting
            Left Hook
            Power
            Not much on his feet
            Little combinations
            Want for knockouts
            Body Builder

            The differences I see are

            A little quicker
            A little more jabbing
            Being right is fun.

I guess. A lot of good prospects fight weaker opposition in the beggining of their careers. Look what happened to Vargas he shouldn't have fought Trinidad so damn early he just wasn't ready.

Definitely not going to say he still doesn't have potential... The knockout might knock sense into him.

Point is all that headhunting and want for KOs always make a fighter worse...

Yeah well this should teach him because he came in senseless with no hands up and got dropped. He has the ability to go to the body. He just need to work on getting his hands up and punch selection. Becuase headhunting can tire you out and he'll be fighting 12 rounders soon.
