I don't wanna jump the gun and say he's better than Trinidad, but...well ok, he's better than Trinidad. They fight two different styles, and I see Cotto's style having fared better against the fighters Tito lost to.

      No, No he's not.

He's nowhere even close to being considered on Tito's level. Tito demolished a level of opposition that makes Cotto's look like a flat out amateur.

Tito destroyed Oba Carr, Pernell Whitaker, David Reid, Macho Camacho, Fernando Vargas, Hugo Pineda and holds the win over Oscar in the fight of the millenium.

And ****ing haha don't come with the "Oh Oscar was robbed and Pea was old routine" because that's just ******. Cotto's biggest win is over a guy who lost 2 of his last 3 fights and 1 of them against a Cab driver from Argentina.

This is a ****** topic, riddled with Cotto ball grabbers.

Only one of those fights that impressed me was the win over Vargas...Oscar WAS robbed, and Pea WAS old, so why is it ****** to say that? Both of those are facts.

I think Cotto is better than Tito, period, but Tito holds the better resume at this point. Cotto isn't finished with his.

Because in the same breath you're praising a fighter who's biggest win is over a guy who lost 2 of his last 3 fights before that, and was a loose cannon losing to a virtual plumber from Argentina.

I think Cotto is better than Tito, period, but Tito holds the better resume at this point. Cotto isn't finished with his.
Maybe Cotto's boxing skill is better than Tito. The jury is still out as far as careers are concerned because he has 1 victory over Zab Judah. That's it.

man I'm a Cotto fan and I'm not hating on him.........it's just that people have been going way overboard after Saturday night.

I know you're a Cotto fan, but I just disagree with you on this. You're only looking at names, you're not looking at who he fought, all the undefeateds he beat, and the fashion in which he won.

Cotto is the better fighter, Tito's career is over so logically he holds more names on his resume, but if you put Tito in his prime, and Cotto right now, Cotto comes out on top. My opinion of course.

Since Cotto is still young, I see what you're getting at.

It's just reading "Well Cotto is better than Tito" seems like a difficult concept for me to grasp when I'm looking at the end result of their careers at the respective times. And if anything when I state "1 fighter" in "Judah" I'm not discrediting the fact that Cotto has beat some real names........but the 1 victory that stands out in Judah on his record was a gauge of how good he is yes........but to reach the echelon status like Tito he'd have to keep beating more superstars. I mean I hope he does and I'd like more than anything to say "yeah Cotto is better than Tito" but at this point that's in my opinion just jumping the gun.

Everyone's opinion differs. We've seen some serious stuff from Cotto up until this point but he still needs the fight with a Mosley, Hatton, Jose Luis Castillo, or Floyd Mayweather to influence my opinion about him being compared to Trinidad.

I do think he is more skilled, but he hasnt done what Tito has so we cant put him above him right now imo.

The only thing Tito wrapped was his opponents jaw around his fist... Not One of you would ever step to Tito and suggest he wrapped his hands...I don't care if you 220lbs...he will lay you out.

Tito's hands were always checked as were his opponents. Tito lost when he stepped up to fight bigger men. At 147, he had Oscared running for his life. Oscared pitty patted for the first half and realized, Tito wasn't goin anywhere. Then the power was felt.. and he ran. Tito offered him an immediate rematch and like a *****, Oscared e waited til Tito retired to start asking him for dinner dates. Personally, I like the name cheato more than Chicken.

Also....what happened to Morales?? Why did he lay down against Pac? I thought Meixcans where warriors?
