Hatton is also doubtful if Mayweather can ever be called a true great when you consider the timing he's chosen to face some of his previous victims.

The American has defeated the likes of Arturo Gatti, Carlos Baldomir, Diego Corrales and Zab Judah as well as De La Hoya in May, but none of these have impressed Hatton too much.

He said: "Gatti was a little bit past it, Diego Corrales was a super-featherweight who looked a bit weight-drained, Carlos Baldomir was 'win some lose some', Zab Judah had seen better days and as fantastic as a result it was, even De La Hoya had seen better days than that."

Everyone complains when Mayweather is not impressed by a fighter, but when Mayweather gets the same criticism people think it's OK...

LoL If Mayweather isn't impressive then what is Hatton? Considering Mayweather knocked Ricky the **** OUT.

Ricky Hatton is a joke. Too bad it took the Brits so long to realize what the world already knew...

That is rubbish saying Calzaghe being an idol in the Uk.

The fact he is Welsh meant that the press didn't hark on about him half as much as would be deemed the norm.

If he had been English then you would see a difference.

Kahn and Hatton get more publicity in the press even though they are of a lower standard. They are English so it just happens in the Uk.

Hatton attracts a certain type of British fan........someone who's blind to real skills and mostly the casual fan..........sometimes you have to know boxing to realise that someone like Hatton is not as good as all the hype.
