Manny Pacquiao wants to fight Humberto Soto after the Mexican beat his younger brother Bobby on Saturday night.
Soto put himself in the frame for a possible clash with the Filipino sensation following his impressive seventh-round knockout victory at Madison Square Garden.
Soto (42-5, 26 KOs) landed some crisp punches in the opening round and hurt Pacquiao (27-13, 12 KOs) with a powerful left hook to the body.
It wasn't long before the 26-year-old was down on one knee and the referee deemed it as a knockdown even if replays suggested otherwise.
Soto, 27, continued his aggressive approach and by the the fourth round he cut Pacquiao badly on his right eyebrow and with blood gushing this made his opponent angry but reckless.
The fight ended in the seventh when a firm straight right landed on Pacquiao's jaw and a follow-up left hook saw the brother of 'Pacman' collapse in the corner - and he was not able to beat the referee's count.
But now the elder Pacquiao, who accompanied Bobby on his ring walk, wants to avenge Saturday's result.
He said: "I couldn't explain what I was feeling...I felt pity for Bobby, I felt like crying.
"As of now, yes I want to fight Soto, I'm accepting his challenge to find out how strong he really is."
