After what I saw from Floyd against that version of Oscar......forget it.

I don't see why anyone would want to fight him. His conditioning is ridiculous and Cotto's left hook would be worthless to the body. You could hit Floyd with a baseball bat in the ribs and he'd just smile.

Secondly there's no way for Cotto to land flush upstairs. He's by no means a combination puncher, or a combination puncher that rivals Oscar who is in my view one of the kings of combination punching......and there's just no feasible way for him to land a money punch on a guy who uses so much upper body torquing when he's in the pocket.

If you noticed......Judah was making Cotto miss at points using the Mayweather routine by ducking low and using movement. Problem was he's just not as good at doing that as Floyd is and that's an understatement.

Every time Judah landed flush with a counter uppercut I thought to myself:

GEE I WONDER IF FLOYD COULD DO THAT IF NOT WORSE.

        He's scared of Miguel Cotto?

LMFAO he just schooled Oscar De La Hoya's ass. Why in the hell would he possibly be afraid of Miguel "Angel" Cotto after that.

Well Castillo gave him the fight of his life, so I don't see why Cotto can't beat him. I think he will.

I don't think he'd win by KO because Floyd's defense is tight and he's too crafty to be hit flush over and over, but Cotto would win based on pure aggression and effective punching for the full 12 rounds and get the decision.

Because he would beat DLH at this point in Oscar's career.

              Cotto is a tremendous fighter.

That being stated the version of Oscar we saw was the best we've seen in years, and Oscar at that gear is as good as anyone.

Floyd confused, and landed looping right hands at will on a fighter who's level of boxing intelligence is equally as high as anyone, and definitely higher than Miguel Cotto. I just don't think they're on the same tier.

Oscar at this point is still closer to Floyd's tier because of his ring experience. Cotto was impressive against Judah, and has been impressive in most if not all of his bouts with the exception of the Corley fight (which I still argue was still an ass whipping) but showed he has obvious flaws.

The perfect opponent to expose the flaws Cotto has is Floyd Mayweather Jr because of his boxing IQ, fast hands, as well as ring experience.

Do you honestly think that Floyd Mayweather is invincible and indestructible? Those body shots from De La Hoya hurt Mayweather and I predict that Cotto would hurt him even more.

At this point in time at 154 pounds, nobody can beat him.

And please people don't start with the me being a Floyd nuthugger because I'm not one. I'm just being realistic in pointing out that he's that much better than everyone else you could possibly pit him up against at 154.

Wright will not come down to 154 ever again I doubt. Mosley is the next best shot and I've always stated that I believe he'd beat Floyd. However once again I point out that after I watched Floyd beat THAT VERSION of Oscar....it's not going to happen. We hadn't seen an Oscar in that type of shape in years and he turned back the clock. He was accurate with his jab, and landed some key punches that might have got Floyd's attention a bit........but nothing that was serious and I completely disagree when you state that "Oscar hurt Floyd with body shots" if anything he felt them, but they did absolutely nothing to slow him down.

The punch that Oscar could have used to win the fight was the jab, and he clearly showed that he could land it at will on Floyd. How far did that get him? Caught reaching with the jab and tagged with nonstop accurate looping right hands over the top that were extremely impressive.

Cotto's best shot would be to try and jab Floyd to death like he did against Judah..........and even at that I'd expect Floyd to adjust and change his tactics against a fighter who's boxing skill is not on Oscar's level

I repeat Cotto's boxing skill is not on Oscar's level........end of story.

I agree, but who said it has to be? Like I said before, you don't try to outbox a better boxer, and Cotto wouldn't try to outbox DLH or Mayweather.

Cotto beats Mayweather by decision, and DLH by late TKO.

I'm not saying Cotto's boxing skill is as good as De la Hoya's but why would it need to be? I think De La Hoya's failure to win the fight was due to pacing. Cotto has no such problem and actually grows in stature as a fight progresses. There is no doubt that Cotto would give Mayweather a hell of a fight and anyone who thinks otherwise seriously underestimates Cotto.
