    ARTICLE: COTTO vs MAYWEATHER

NEW YORK – Zab Judah was no match for Miguel Cotto, but a bout with a mocking Floyd Mayweather Jr. would be a match made in heaven.

    Great read.

I think Mayweather wins, but with the right stradegy Cotto could make this a truly great fight.

Good article. I'd love to see this fight.

I believe – and have for more than six years – that Mayweather is the best fighter in the world. I think he would beat Cotto.

But more than anything else, I want to see him prove that in the ring.

I don't think Cotto can beat Mayweather. Zab's fast hands kept getting through Cotto's guard and Zab wasn't throwing that much because he only throws one punch at a time when pressured. Floyd, on the other hand, is a great boxer who can fight going in any dirrection. When Cotto had Zab on the ropes he would punish him but Floyd would duck and weave around those punches and make Cotto pay.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cotto and I'd love to see him win, but I'd give him about 5 chances in 100 to beat PBF right now.

I myself don't know if he'll beat him but your chances 5 in 100 are a bit ridiculous. I would give him way more than that. If some punches were getting through his guard is because Zab is fast as hell, faster & stronger than maywether. If Cotto comes in the same way he came in on saturday night I'll give him a hell of a chance.

I picked zab to beat cotto just because of his speed and power along with cotto's weak chin. But after his dismantleing of zab i think i may pick cotto against pbf. I say this becuase zab is quite near in speed to pretty boy and it didn't faze cotto, also pbf doesn't hit nearly as hard a zab, so all pretty boy can do is run and with his shots not stopping cotto it's only a matter of time until cotto catches up with him and hurts him.
The one thing i can see that lets cotto down is the speed and if he cant penetrate pbf's defence then maybe pbf could just jab and run like always and win by UD.

He is not stronger or faster than Mayweather. Speed is even with a slight edge going either way. But how in the hell do you think he stronger than Mayweather that doesn't even make sense.

If Cotto comes in the way he did on Saturday night, I'd give him a 5.5% chance of winning. I'm dead serious. DLH is MUCH faster than Cotto, with a MUCH better defense, and PBF made him look like a punk. What do you think he'll do to Cotto?

Also, Judah cannot fight going backwards and PBF can. Judah cannot fight off the ropes and PBF can. Judah fades in fights and PBF doesn't. Judah could've hit Cotto at will had he thrown more; rest assured that PBF will throw more and get hit less than Judah did last Saturday.

No, my friend, the odds are totally stacked for PBF. A slick boxer with no power, Paulie Malingaggi, gave the blueprint on how to beat Cotto. Paulie won 5 rounds that night, and was KD'd in the second. Had he been able to stay on his feet, the confidence would've still been there and he might've pulled it off against Cotto (a weight-drained Cotto, I know, but he still boxed Cotto's ears off in 5 rounds).

The Vegas odds will probably be +1800 for PBF and -2500 for Cotto. I can see it now.

You're the one not making any sense. Judah is faster than maywether to some degree & is a harder hitter the Floyd. Many people can agree to that.

The same could've have been said for this weekends fight. zab was supposed out box cotto & knock him out in this garden brawl. One can say Zab didn't throw enough punches, stamina etc... the list goes on & on. The point is that no one knows until that bell rings and I will not count cotto out in a fight with Floyd. Floyd is the better boxer I agree...but, I go with the old saying that styles makes fights.

cotto could not carry PBF's jock strap and i really cant stand floyd either. Cotto is an overated dirty fighter.
