I would assume Mario is probably real cool in person...and respects fighters a GREAT DEAL....and knows he could never last with Shane or Toney if they didnt allow him too...and I would HOPE he realizes that he couldnt excel in a top level amateur tournament. And to be honest with you....as backwards as it may sound to some...he would get a lot more out of sparring for real with a top amateur than he would going with Shane and James. Because those guys are LITERALLY toying with him and I dont need to seethem spar in person to know that.

I'm not saying he's at the level of a pro fighter but to get in the ring with a guy like James Toney and Sugar Shane is a very big deal. You think those guys aren't hitting him hard? A street guy like Toney in the ring with an "actor pretty boy" and you don't think he's taking his shots? LOL

Nuff props to Lopez for not TALKING about it but doing it. I have been sparring for over 20 years now and I have never been in the ring with a guy the level of Toney or Mosley. Just to be in with guys like that, believe me, you better know what you are doing or you could get seriously hurt. the kid is doing his thing, he's an actor, dancer and loves the sport of boxing so much, he's actually going to the gym and getting some ring time. And not just any gym, a gym that is world known, that takes alot of balls.

Maybe the fact that he's a young, good looking latino, doing positive in his life and community bothers you. Boxing isn't about "tough" guys, it's about skill and intelligence and applying it in the ring.

Actually you are right Selma Hayek's mother is full blooded Mexican. Puerto Ricans did not take their flag from Texas, they adopted their flag from Cuba and reversed the colors to make it their own.

True it is about skill and intelligence and believe me that in one year Mario is no where near a truely skilled and intelligent fighter, I dont care what you tell me. And boxing is ****ing most definately about tough guys, some of the toughest in the world to be exact. If boxing was easy it would be the most popular sport in society because everybody could do it. But its not and they dont because you got to be tough.
