Tommy Morrison Wins MMA Debut

It wasn't the kind of mixed martial arts that former WBO heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison was looking for. One the eve of Morrison's MMA debut, his former agent Randy Lang revealed to The Arizona Republic that Morrison had tested positive for the HIV virus in recent mandatory tests for a boxing license. I like Morrison, but I have to say, this sounds like a really messed up fight.

This Stover guy deserves some respect.

1. He is put in a situation where he doesn't know if his opponant has HIV or not. How the hell can you train with that on yor mind?

2. At the last minute they tell him it's NOT an mma match, but a boxing match. It's bad enough this dude doesn't have any mma experice either but now he's got to box against a former champion.

How many people would have doen that? Not to mention he was way out of shape to beging with. He definiately has some balls.

Morrison should be thrown away. He's a bum who got HIV then probably sent in false tests in his first comeback bout. Then with the whole world knowing he still has HIV decides to

Morrison is a joke. He doesn't wanna do MMA, because he knows he'll get wrecked. Here's an excerpt from Sherdog.com explaining some of what happened...
"Rules prohibited any kind of ground fighting, and as the card at the Cliff Castle Casino was about to commence it was announced that knees, elbows, or kicks of any kind would be disallowed during the Morrison-Stover fight, which was scheduled for three three-minute rounds."
Tommy was too scared to get kicked, taken down, have elbows dropped on his head, or get choked unconscious. It was pretty painfully obvious that he wasn't ready to fight MMA, even days befoe the fight, when Sherdog also found out that he didn't even bother to employ a BJJ coach of any kind, or do anything that would prepare him to fight off his back. All this was was a boxing match, with 4oz gloves, inside a cage. Fight finder is not recognizing this as a win, and rightfully so. The funny thing is that if he was scared of Stover, who is a CAN in the world of MMA, there's no way he's ready for what the top LHW's in the UFC bring.
Good job Tommy, you won a glorified boxing match against a guy who has very little to NO boxing experience, in front of a crowd of 2500 people, in 2:08 seconds. I hope he realizes that under normal MMA rules, he would've lasted about HALF of that! I've pretty much lost all respect for the guy.

Morrison killed leg and elbow strikes 20 mins before the match.

I knew he still had that ****. This is absolutely ridiculous the guy fighting should not have stepped in that ring knowing about the recent results. Morrison and his people should spend time in jail, no doubt about that
