I have no doubt Zab will start off very well in this fight maybe even *****g Cotto to the deck but things are going to get tough in their and Zabdiel simply does not respond well in the squared circle when things get hot.
Around round 6 or 7 Cotto's pressure will begin to become apparent, he bodwork will begin to pay off and leave Judah with two choices.
1) Stand and fight
or
2) Run
We have never seen Zab for any sustained period of time stand and fight, we have seen him run. The first choice will get Zab iced but with that he will earn the repsect of many boxing fans that dont particularly repsect him at this point.
Option 2 Will result in an embarrassing UD loss and the total evaporation of any respect anywhere for him as a true fighter.
(Can anyone smell a poor mans version of Trinidad vs. Oscar-a bit different circumstances I think but something along the lines of Zab early and then when things get tough as Larry Merchant would say his fight plan turning into a flight plan)
One other thing-for Zab fans sure he can catch Cotto early which with his speed and southpaw stance is almost a given that he connects with Cotto's chin...FIRST SIGN INDICATOR of how this fight will go is when Zab does sit down and land that straight left WHAT HAPPENS?
Zab needs to be able to stop Cotto with that punch dead in his tracks, he needs to be able to stun him with that shot. If he can do this and do it consistently then hell we are in for an interesting fight down the stretch if Cotto can last that long.
If Cotto walks thru a picture perfect left hand early then mark it down right then and there....FIGHT OVER.
