The most popular fighter in the world is Mike Tyson. He is the only fighter that can go anywhere in the world and sell out a venue. He's just happens to be retired.

Second, Oscar De La Hoya would be the most popular. He's known all over the world for his accolades, but more so for his gold medal in the Olympics. However, he only packs arenas on the West coast.

After that, it would be Roy Jones Jr, Floyd Mayweather, James Toney, Bernard Hopkins and so forth....not in that order though.

i think the klits are popular. it's always the heavies that carry boxing for the mainstream or casual fans. they dont follow the lower weights much, unless the fighter is extremely popular.

If we are going WORLD WIDE??? That's the WHOLE globe SIN not just the USA..were Boxing is a fringe sport... then there are Plenty.. Manny Paquiao.. Wlad Klitschko..Joe Calazghe (I know you hate him... but that dont mean he aint hugely popular;no Arturo Gatti just to name a few...
