        The most popular fighter in the world is Mike Tyson. He is the only fighter that can go anywhere in the world and sell out a venue. He's just happens to be retired.

        Second, Oscar De La Hoya would be the most popular. He's known all over the world for his accolades, but more so for his gold medal in the Olympics. However, he only packs arenas on the West coast.

        After that, it would be Roy Jones Jr, Floyd Mayweather, James Toney, Bernard Hopkins and so forth....not in that order though.

          you must be kidding. maybe in the latino community only? there's a lot of ppl who dislike floyd, like me, but im sure a whole bunch more likes the way he fights. he's way more popular than cotto.

            I know Hatton is more popular in the U.K than Floyd is in the U.S. Hatton sells out 30-40k seat arenas when he fights there. Floyd couldnt sell out a circus tent without a popular opponent

              i think the klits are popular. it's always the heavies that carry boxing for the mainstream or casual fans. they dont follow the lower weights much, unless the fighter is extremely popular.

                If we are going WORLD WIDE??? That's the WHOLE globe SIN not just the USA..were Boxing is a fringe sport... then there are Plenty.. Manny Paquiao.. Wlad Klitschko..Joe Calazghe (I know you hate him... but that dont mean he aint hugely popular;no Arturo Gatti just to name a few... I guess if you add his love and hate.. he is then top 3 ... there really is no middle ground..
