Hatton's future $$$$$ not looking to good

I'm working with the assumption that Hatton defeats Castillo. Ok, Castillo is the biggest payday at 140lbs but then WHAT? Hatton has no big money fights at jrWW. Only a Witter which is luke warm and a decent payday but its neither a mega or even big.

To get big $$$$ Hatton will have to go 1 division north. However unlike Collazo the current title holders are all hard hitting WW's.

    WBC- Shane Mosley (Interim Champion)
WBA- Miguel Cotto or Zab Judah
    IBF - Kermit Cintron
WBO- Antonio Margarito or Paul Williams

Throw in Clottey, Berto, Quintana, Collazo, PBF and Joel Julio and you'll see there are no easy fights in the WW top 10. With such a deep Young or Prime talent pool at WW Hatton will have to walk a virtual mindfield of high risk low reward fighters. The only Mega buildup big $$$$ fight I see him in is Cotto or PBF.

Hatton has declared that he does not wish to stay much longer in boxing so he is looking for the big money. With the hard hitting WW champs and contenders out there offering good but not big money. What is Hatton's best bet? Call out Floyd like he has been doing lately.

It's not a bravery, ****iness or even to solidfy his legacy its for $$$$ same as PBF. PBF as a non-natural WW and #1 p4p fighter is the low risk/high reward fight. Even if Hatton gets outboxed it still doesn't hurt his marketability since IF PBF defeats him, it will most likely be by decision.

However here is Hattons problem. PBF has many more options than Hatton. Hatton is not necessarily the biggest $$$$ nor the biggest threat or even the best for his legacy right now. PBF has little reason to want to fight Hatton while Hatton NEEDS PBF for his mega payday.

Lets examine PBF's options in the categories of $$$$, most challenging, best for legacy.

$$$$$- Cotto (if he wins), DLH II or possibly even Mosley are bigger $$$$ fights for PBF

Biggest threat- I would say and I believe most here agree that Mosley has a better chance of beating PBF.

Legacy- Defeating Mosley who is currently looking very good and is a current legend would be a much bigger feather in PBF's cap than defeating Hatton.

All in all Hatton's $$$$ isn't looking to great unless he can create some buzz and have exciting fights with impressive wins.

A fight against Witter in the UK would make him BIG money...

Sounds about right - hatton needs some luck getting a big fight should he get past Castillo. I actually think Witter would be a good option, in the UK. With the right marketing it could be big money over here, and rival the money Hatton would make in the US tbh.

Oh, I dont believe he has squandered it either. He seems to have a very good head on his shoulders. What I'm basically getting at is I dont see him many options in making the tons of money and cashing out BIG in the end of his career like many have i.e. B-Hop, DLH, PBF, Trinidad even Tzu cashed out big in England.

I know Witter is a good matchup but is it really a BIG money fight? I'm from the states and I just can't see it being offered on PPV. Million dollar fight sure but what I am talking about is 5 million and better. Would Hatton get 5million US or 3million pounds to fight Witter?

Oh yeah, im not critcising you at all, just saying, the dude wants more money like all of us, but if anyone can make those millions last it's him, Hatton is like your everyday guy, not flashy, loves his family, I cant hate him for that.

The fight Hatton really wants is PBF..He then can hang up his gloves and drink himself ******..
I recon that fight must be worth almost $20 mill , split between them, a large chunk of that would come from the UK..as it would be one of our biggest fights ever..
It's not as much as his last fight, but PBF isn't going to earn that amount every fight, and as he says himself....if the money is right he'll fight ..retirement or not..
There arn't that many megga buck fights out there for anyone..

Witter....apart hardent from boxing fans, no one gives a toss..crap money..

Im sure Hatton has already made tons of money from all those sold out matches that he's had in Manchester. This guy sells out 30-40k seat arenas when he fights out there!
