I personally think one confirmed positive test is sufficient to taint his career (and his involvement with balco wasn't likely about a shared interest in baseball card trading).
But how cases from the past are handled is of much less interest than how we deal with the problem going forward. (So maybe cheats like RJJ get to be "grandfathered in" but new cheats don't have such luck.) However past transgressors are handled, there need to be clear guidelines and standard tests applied before and after matches and possibly in some random fashion during training. Infractions need to have clear punishments. Steroid (and other illegal enhancers) are dangerous to the participants, dangerous for the sport and fundamentally "not sporting." Boxing needs to deal with the issue through fair and clear rules and procedures for enforcement.
Was it ever officially proven that Roy was connected with Balco?
Dang that is deep...I knew nothing of most of it, especially the BALCO stuff...tHE "ROIDS" issue is so hot right now that is he was to test positive today his career would literally be over, his fame would be gone, Roy Jones would be no more..
