The Real Reason Cotto will dominate Zab!

Lots of good dialogue about this fight and analysis but there is one main reason why Zab will lose to Miguel on June 9th : Zab has tasted defeat 4 times and the shadows of doubt from those defeats will worm there way from the back of his mind to the front as the fight gets deep. The confidence undefeated fighters like Cotto carry with him into the ring will also be apparent but Zab hasnt been able to carry that fire throughout a fight that he shows in the beginning of a fight that will get him the "W" against someone like Cotto. I think this will be obvious from the opening bell. I dont think Zab's a front runner, i dont think he will get tired, I think once he starts to lose a few rounds that mind set and those memories of past losses will surface and he will fall apart. I just hope he goes out swingin.

Show me a fighter that never lost and I'll show you a fighter that never fought nobody.

Losses on a record mean nothing. Eventually everyone loses and Cotto's chin is just as fragile as Zab's.

Those previous losses can also motivate him to fight his heart out on this one though because.. no one wants another loss and he needs this. It could go either way!

zab has choked in all but one of his big fights, the 2nd spinks fight. other than that, his fights with tszyu, baldomir, mayweather, he choked in all of them.

zab is like andrew golota: hes a fighter with a huge amount of talent, but is an underachiever and has a tendancy to come up short in the big fights.

            1) Zab knows that he NEEDS this win for his career. Its an absolute necessity and his mind will be on the fight, not his previous ones.
            2) Cotto can be as confident as he wants, but when you get hit in the face that **** dissapears, its all about boxing.

I dont agree with this thread starter because he lost to some good fighters, e****ally Floyd, Tszyu, and Spinks.

If Cotto fought those guys then he would have losses also. As for that helping or hurting a fighter's confidence, I disagree. I think Cotto will worry if he has it tough or loses a couple of rounds because he will know that Zab is the best guy he's been in there with and he has the tools to do things that the other opponents couldnt

Look lets get something straight...Team Cotto has been putting Cotto in w/runners that cant crack a egg since Torres. After Cotto cold dropped cold against Torres, Team Cotto started picking opoonents. His chin worries them.

Now Zab has the fastest hands in the division and can ****...really ****. He gave PBF his 1st taste of the canvas. Yeah hes got losses but all to good fighters.

I see a upset w/Zabby winning by TKO or decision. Hes too slick for Cotto. Now way is Malignaggi tougher than Zab is. Catch my drift?

The confidence that comes with a 0 in the loss column is a very real thing to be sure, but it is far from a garuantee of victory. Zab is far and away the toughest opponent Cotto has been scheduled to face in his professional career, and while his confidence level may be high (and rightly so) I still see this as an even match, and regardless of who comes away victorious, I hope we all get to watch a hell of a fight.
