Abraham: "I'll Fight Felix Sturm Any Time"

It was with astonishment that Team Sauerland reacted to Felix Sturmīs most recent comments about a potential showdown with IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham. Sturm had voiced his disappointment that none of the "1000 offers" from his end had been successful. "I donīt know to whom he directed those offers but we did not receive anything at all," Wilfried Sauerland stated. "There has just been one offer - last year and from us. We put it in written form to his promoters." [details]

Abraham needs to fight Miranda next, 90% or the press and most of the fans thought he lost, so he needs to prove that he's a better fighter then that.

If he does fight Sturm, I will actually go with Sturm by UD win.

I don't know if Miranda will ever fight again at middleweight. Considering the way he looked vs. Pavlik, the weight loss may be too much for him. Then again, I guess if any fight makes he want to try 160 one more time, it's an Abraham rematch.

If that rematch doesn't happen, I want to see Abraham-Sturm happen. It's good for Europe and good for the US because the winner is the undisputed European Middleweight Champion, so whoever that is can challenge the Taylor-Pavlik winner (hope that fight happens too obviously) and we have another completely-unified middleweight champion.

I'd go with Abraham late KO, Round 10 or so.

This matchup is an example of the kind of fights the sport of boxing needs, two of the best in their division facing off. Abraham would probably win by late TKO or KO, but if it went to the scorecards it's anybody's guess. I think their boxing skills are probably close to equal, but Abraham seems to have an edge in power.

I would like to see Abraham fight Sturm now that you mention that. That would be a great situation the European champ vs the American champ. Then the unified champ could go on and face the Kessler/Calzaghe winner (if that fight happens as well) for supremacy in the MW to SMW division.
