Jeff Lacy threads?

Jeff Lacy is one of my fav fighters and over the last few days i've seen a load of posts about him being bought up whats the point? He got battered by joe so what, on his day I think Lacy could win another world title in the smw divison or maybe light heavyweight so whats the point bringing up threads about his one loss?

Jeff is a terrific fighter and would beat any SMW in the world other than Calzaghe and Froch. When you've got a Lacy wailing away at you, you better let up a silent prayer.

His jab can rock you back into the ropes, and he throws his punches through gaps. He has much faster than average hands and exerts gradually increasing pressure until you crumble.


Jeff was made for Joe in that he goes through fives move to land one punch, whereas in that time Joe would have let off five punches! And he did. Jeff arches with his punches where Joe has more in-tight hooks, I knew Joe had the tools to beat him cleanly. If Jeff didn't use his jab - which he didn't - I wouldn't have give him much hope at all against a sensible, in-shape Calzaghe, stylistically.

Unfortunately for Lacy he was the cause celebre for yanks calling him THE next big thing who was going to destroy that limey.

I like him though. I'd give him a decent shot at taking anyone else at SMW out.

I agree Lacy would beat froch it would be a brillient fight though both heavy hitters going for it. I'd give Lacy the edge ashe's fought better oppositon and his style means froch would be on the back foot and it would be hard for him to pick his power punches.

Sadly,I would not be surprised if we had seen the last of him.

I know he's on the mend from the injury suffered in his last fight,but...the ass whupping he suffered from Calzone,most don't recover from.
They may comeback,but never the same as before the fight.The aura is gone and the damage upstairs....

Jeff Lacy appears to be the biggest victory in the history of British boxing. It was such a great win that Joke Calzaghe has never even bothered facing a fighter even close to that level ever again in his career...

What level was Lacy on? he barely landed a punch in 12 rounds and would probably have died on his feet if the fight went on for another few rounds.
