this rumor is not completely unfounded though, because Tyson has spoke of Ibragimov in the past, repeatedly predicting Ibragimov to win fight after fight and he is supposedly friends with him as well. Just because Shannon Briggs is from the same neighborhood as Tyson doesn't mean anything in my opinion, Brownsville isn't that tiny.

UPDATE: Btalk has confirmed that Tyson will be a working member of Ibragimov's corner for this saturday's fight, and interviews will soon follow.

I have been saying for some time that Tyson could make a good trainer some day if he works with the right prospect. This just might be true information because Mike has shown up down here in South Florida for a couple Ibragimov fights to support him, he really likes the kid. Hopefully this is the start of a new career for Mike, boxing needs him to be involved in someway.

I was worried that the next time I heard about Tyson from a media outlet that it would be tragic news. This is great news. I think that rejoining the boxing community will be good not only for him, but for the sport as well. I hope this works out well for him so that he will be more likely to pursue it to a greater degree. He needs something like this to keep him sane. Not only that his knowledge of the sport is outstanding, I think he could really contribute in a positive way.

Tyson and Ibragimov both have the Panama Lewis connection, both having worked with him. That is a smaller fraternity of guys willing to work with Lewis than being from Brownsville is. Tyson hasn't lived in Brownville since 1979 and Briggs was just a kid at the time.

It was recently reported that Tyson was granted permission to leave CA, and AZ, with 3 days request notice. He still has an upcoming trial date in Aug.

A felony trial in Arizona with "America's Toughest Sheriff" heading the prosecution, so he's facing serious jail time.

Shame that a ****** bastard like Panama Lewis is still connected with boxing. Just shows how low the sport is.

Anyway, the Tyson-Sultan connection just dawned on me. Tyson supposedly converted to Islam, and Sultan, with a name like that, must be Islamic too.

Tyson is coming to Washington, DC for his daughter's graduation on Friday, and on Saturday he will be going up to Atlantic City to attend the fight. Tyson will walk his friend Sultan into the ring, but will not work in his corner, according to Sultan's trainer Mayweather. Zab Judah and Muhammed Ali will be in Brigg's corner.

Tyson likes Sultan and was in his corner for the Whitaker fight, but not the Austin fight. Tyson is very popular in Russia, they know more about his victories in the ring than his mistakes, and Sultan grew up having great respect for him.
