Pac is one dimensional and crude. Yes, he's learned to use the right hand better, but he's still lacking in the coordination department, i.e. he flails and jumps in too much.

Guzman is a great fighter and technically sound (as is Humberto Soto and JMM, the three fighters I'd pick to beat Pac at 130). Guzman also has heart, speed, and a good chin.

    Guzman KO10.

A lot of Pinoys aren't familiar with Soto or Guzman. Let's open class for abit. In Guzman vs Barrios. Barrios came in over weight hoping to easily beat Guzman regardless of losing the belt because he was moving up in weight after that fight. That gave Barrios a strength advantage and take a shot advantage off the bat. He didn't look weight fatigued or anything either. It looked part of his plan. Came fight night, it looked like Barrios was gonna be KOed in the first round as Guzman came at him with lightening fast shots that stunned and dazed Barrios. So now Barrios who was like 147lbs on fight night got rocked, imagine Manny. Muchless, Manny freaks out once he gets hit clean. He always turtles up and goes backwards to recover. Guzman would be all over him unlike Solis, Marquez, or Barrera of the past. So as far as Guzman, he's technically more sound than Manny, great balance, great footwork, super fast hands, and loves to mix it up(he doesn't have a bad chin and Manny has never KOed anyone completely out in the last few fights since taking on the elites).

Soto. This guy is tough as nails. He hits hard, likes to trade bombs, has a good chin, and decent defense. I think this guy between the 2 would be the biggest threat to KO Manny but he could easily outbox Manny also if need be. I definitely think he'll KO Bobby and it'll setup a Pac-Soto showdown in the future. Soto put the beatdown on Rocky Juarez and since then he's had impressive wins and some really cool KOs.

Put it this way, any of the younger opponents are gonna give Manny hell at this point. They are wayyy hungrier than him and hit hard. Guzman is older than Manny but he is a slick boxer-puncher(less on puncher at 130lbs), and Manny has trouble with boxers. Any fight Manny takes is gonna be tough and you can't say he'll knock his head off or KO him easily when Manny hasn't KOed anyone cold for a few years. Manny demoralizes his opponents with hard punches and puts them on their ass, but he doesn't brutalize them with cold KOs.

Pac, by moving up in weight, has lost some of his power but by retaining his speed, has won most of his fights by KO/TKO. He has won UD by beating Larios, by throwing more and landing more punches. Even though his still 1 dimensional, he has improve his right hand and according to the Ring mag, learn to box more(of course, his not in the mold of PBF, JMM, EM, or MAB).
Even though they were not in their primes, beating MAB and EM are impressive wins. And a draw with JMM is not bad either. As an underdog, has defeated Sasakul and Ledwaba for world titles(agaisnst MAB, he was also underdog). Even though they moved up in weight, Larios was top 3 in the jr. featherweight and Solis was ranked #8 in featherweight by the Ring mag, when they lost to Pac.

Guzman, moving up in weight, lost some punching power and has not had a KO/TKO since February 2004. His most notable win was against Jorge Barrios in a split decision. His a better technical boxer than Pac.

Even though their about the same age, Barrera has been in TOO MANY WARS than JMM. Before he fought MAB, the only war JMM was involved was against Pacquiao. MAB has been with Pacquiao, Morales, Ayala, Kelley, Tapia, Juarez, McKinney, and Junior Jones. By boxing standards, JMM beat up an old and washed up Barrerera.

This is the fight I see panning out in the end as well. Once Soto beats Bobby, the Oct. 6 fight has the perfect angle (though the fight on its own is still worth the price of admission).

Plus, making it involves the least amount of politics, since both are with Top Rank. Guzman is with Sycuan and Golden Boy, the latter unlikely to allow Guzman or any other GBP fighter to allow Arum to serve as sole/lead promoter for one of their fights. Sycuan is basically a puppet at this stage, allowing any major promoter to pull their strings. In this case, Golden Boy.

It's for the same reason that I never believed rumors of Pac-Barrera II, not unless Marco is seriously considering bolting from GBP.

Soto should run through Bobby Pac next weekend, paving the way for Manny-Soto in October.
