    I did not read the article but as far as i remember boxing originatd in Babylon and than later was a cult sport in greece and rome. By the way the concept of the ring was created by romans.

      Hmm interesting, would love to see a fighter of today box against a fighter of those ages....maybe Tyson vs that blad guy...jason figg err sumthin? bare knuckled hehehe....

          It would have been fun to watch ancient fistfighter fight with today's top boxer. Although I doubt any of them will make to Heavyweights. People back than were much smaller. We on the other hand have better attributes due to evolution.
