It was a big deal here at the time because I was a top 10 nationally rated 165 pounder and he was an unbeaten amateur here... this was in the finals of the New Englands with the winner to go to the nationals. A lot of trash talking beforehand.... we almost fought in the hallway right before our fight....the whole first round he rushed me and held me, punched and held, trying to make it as sloppy fight. The ref told him afterwards not to hit after the bell and to stop holding so much... he swore at the ref I guess...and that was the beginning of the endComment

Joey ended up fighting Charles Brewer for the IBF title, losing a 12 rd decision. I tried HARD to get a rematch (even though I won our fight) because here in N.E. it would have been a huge event. Even all these years later people still talk about that nightComment

What about the Roy Jones vid ?
Do Roy and James really hate eachother or is more of a professional rivalry ?Comment

I don't think RJ and James hate each other or anything like that. I doubt they ever speak and conversate, either, though.Comment
