If by "Rockman" you mean who I think you do, the correct spelling of his name is Rahman (pronounced Rackman). Furthermore, it wasn't a growth, but a swelling (hematoma) due to a punch 'applied directly to the forehead' by Lennox Lewis. And no, the swelling doesn't count as ugliness in and of itself, although Rahman is certainly not "pretty" like the fellow whose name I will mention below.
Despite his greatness, Larry Holmes never got the mainstream love, due to the incidence of bad timing. He emerged on the heels, and in the great shadow cast by one (pretty) Muhammad Ali, arguably the most beloved fighter of his time. Holmes endured the same fate as Steve Young, who followed the legendary Joe Montana as quarterback of the 49ers. He never got the same "love" from the fans.Comment

That swelling was in the Holyfield fight, when surprisingly, Evander used his trusty bald noggin to good effect. Rahman had to retire in that fight because of it. 'accidental head butt', yeah right. If by "Rockman" you mean who I think you do, the correct spelling of his name is Rahman (pronounced Rackman).
