Never in my life would i think that somehow, a fighter like Miranda with marginal skill and a big mouth, who ripped pavlik before the fight, then ripped Taylor for months, goes out, get his ass kicked for 7 rounds, gets humiliated, and somehow he is a "warrior" because of his lack of defense and his inability to fight going backwards. I swear, if this is peoples idea of a "warrior" because hes marginally skilled, then maybe more people should really just watch UFC. This is getting rediculous, floyd stood in front of DLH SEVERAL times while DLH just looked at him. Pavlik left the ring that night knowing he just beat the **** out of somebody with a big mouth that couldnt back it up, and im sure he still thinks hes a ****ing clown for running his mouth, I would.

If running my mouth, and then getting my ass kicked is whats going to get me some respect on these boards, i think i should definately sign up. This has come to the point where essentially, Floyd mayweather will never be liked on here even for his skill until he gets KO'd. Then this board can lose it and flood the board with "I TOLD YOU MAYWEATHER WOULD LOSE" when some of you have been predicting his next loss since the 1st castillo fight. I swear after that 1st castillo fight people went nuts with the mayweather hate on different boards, then he rematched him and nobody has been satisfied since, and you never will be, ever. Never. Until he becomes the champion YOU want him to be, youll never be happy, youll always find something to hate him.

Njord said it best, power makes all the difference. Power power power, some of you claim to be boxing fans but i think for the most part, your really KO fans, some of the mindset for you people is basically that of a casual fan with little to no appreciation for the true art of the sport. I can understand hate for Corey spinks, and even for mayweather in some instances, but in the DLH fight, he fought the perfect fight for him, period, and he didint "run the whole fight" he was hardly ever on his bike, and when he was against the ropes, its not like he constantly tied him up neither.

Oscar had every advantage, smaller ring, smaller gloves, larger weight and none of that **** helped him and you all still ***** and whine.

So why would a fighter who can speak well to the media, is seen as the pound for pound most skilled fighter in the game, and whom has shown such masterful performances getting slammed for his trash talk while Miranda gets off lightly? One answer: power.

People like Miranda because he's knocked guys the **** out. Floyd can't do that anymore. You can be like Tyson and talk about eating someone's kids- and if you can knock your opponent out you're seen as the loud talking bad ass. Miranda still has a chance to knock people out so if he talks smack, losses, and comes back with a HUGE KO people will let it slide. Floyd has to box, dance, move- and that's just not "bad-ass" to many boxing fans.

Plus, I'll make mention that Miranda talks his smack in Spanish. Us English speakers can read what he said but we have to hear Floyd running his mouth. Easier to ignore Pantera if you so choose.

Spanish speakers like myself dont have that choice, him and mayorga have both made me laugh though.

It's not down to Floyd's performance in the ring. Yes, everyday fans may not flock to see his fights but he is a superb boxer. I would not ask Floyd to do anything different in the ring.
However, Floyd's propensity for bull**** makes him pointless to listen to. Floyd won't (not can't) take risks and go for a knockout, even through cumulative punches as that is risking his unbeaten streak. That's fine and is what it is. But don't then turn around and promise massacres and toe-to-toe whuppings cause it might hype one fight but very quickly you alienate the very people you are trying to cultivate as fans.
He's playing to the ******s but not delivering for them.
Imagine the scorn and annoyance that say Shannon Briggs would cause if he promised a battle to the death, non stop barriage of punches, boxing masterclass only to lumber slowly around the ring huffing and puffing and throwing 8 wild swings per round, winning with a lucky punch in the 12th.
Then imagine how you'd greet each successive promise of exciting slug fests.
Floyd hurts himself with his bull****.
Floyd delivers such finesse and style in the ring the only way for him to dissappoint fans is to promise them blood and guts.
        Floyd's his own worst enemy.

The thing is why not promise smackdowns and beatings then tag and move for 12 round decisions, when your fans will change history and suggest you "beat the ****" out of your opponent?

Why fight at all when you'd beat anyone, ever, with consumate ease?

Because if he said "im going to duck and slip and counterpunch and skillfully outbox my opponent" nobody would pay any attention to that neither. Its easier to lie and get attention then tell the truth and have nobody care, plus it creates a better atmosphere and build up.

What I mean is that he could run around for 12 rounds and never even try a counterpunch and his fans would stillr eact as though it was a bloody beatdown. An example: Oscar was apparently "nearly knocked out". It's funny.

It creates that if you actually beilive after 38 fights that hes somehow going to do something different than hes done in the past.
