    James Toney vs. Danny Batchelder

I have a lot of respect for James Toney, he is a true warrior who loves being in the ring. He fought courageously against the powerful Samuel Peter, and he may have been robbed of a win in the first fight. It didn't take him long after the second Peter fight before he had a couple of new fights scheduled. The first of these will be this coming Thursday against Danny Batchelder.

Too bad it's not being televised, at least as far as I've heard.

Well said JD1986...I just wonder if this is Toney's farewell bum of the month tour.I wonder if he'll ever fight for a world title again.

I just don't understand how a guy with his skills can lose to a big clubber like Samuel Peter. Maybe time has just caught up with him and it's time for him to hang-up the gloves.

Toney seemed to be dazed by a Samuel Peter rabbit punch early in the second fight, and was not the same afterwards. I think Toney is still very good but he would be a better heavyweight at about 215 pounds (he looked really good against Holyfield at 217). He ideally should go down to cruiserweight.

I agree. Toney should be able to stop Batchelder by the late middle rounds (7th to 9th round), unless he's in serious decline.

bingo. you said it right there man. Toney is ****in sick, but he needs
to get out of the HW division.
I'd love to see him in a rematch with Jirov at cruiser then against oneil bell.
There's good fights waiting for him at cruiser and he still has the skills
                  to dominate there.

He is the shortest heavyweight, obviously too short to be a heavyweight. I remember he was much faster when he fought in the lighter divisions.
