Even the Gatti that lost to Mayweather or Baldomir is gonna destroy Gomez. JCC Jr VS Gatti has fight of the year potential.

This would be a big step up for him but I think he is ready.

Should he win both fights, and Gatti beats Gomez, they will then collide in November. At which point Gatti will lose (probably by knockout)... and then receive another farewell fight next July.

Again, that's IF he beats Gomez.
he wont beat him or get to chavez jr

gatti will go right through gomez... after all we all know that people from "the contender" are extremely overrated... look at manfredo vs a real fighter like calzaghe... or when jesse brinkley got the **** kicked out of him by an old and rusty robin reid

but there is no way in hell that gatti will beat JCC Jr. Chavez is a natural welterweight, whereas Gatti is blown up to 147. Plus Chavez has the height and reach advantage, is quicker and hits harder. HBO is pushing this fight just as a passing of the torch so more people can see JCC Jr. and hop on his bandwagon.

I was hoping the Gomez fight was going to be his last fight. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Gomez gave him a good fight and beat him. I feel also the "Contender" guys are overrated and not deserving of the fights they get, but Gomez I feel has a decent shot. I just dont want to see Gatti get hurt real bad and that could happen if he faced JCC Jr. It's a good step up for JCC Jr. from the fighters he has been facing. I can't wait for the day that JCC Jr. goes up against Andre Berto.

Gomez will give Gatti a tough fight. Gatti damn near could of been on contender :-). Chavez would put a man sized whuppin on Gatti.
