Well, I missed some interesting discussion on the board the last few weeks.
Specifically because I didn't order PPV of the Mayweather vs. DLH fight and I didn't want to see how it turned out. I literally had to look away from TVs in bars at times.
My thoughts on that fight. You can't say DLH won the fight, and I hate Mayweather and love DLH. Mayweather landed the sharper punches and at a higher connect.
I will say this, Mayweather did what I thought he would do. He no longer throws any combos but only one punch at a time. He ran and did not trade like he said he would.
DLH could have won this fight too. Though Mayweather managed to negate the left hook he didn't negate the left jab. Mayweather didn't want to throw his usual overhand right exposing himself to the left hook so he didn't, this allowed DLH to land the left jab, in round 6 or 7 you can see DLH land it over and over and Mayweather smile (acknowledging that DLH is hitting him, he tried to play it off as laughing but I think that jab was actaully bothering Mayweather). I'm very dissapointed that neither Roach nor DLH could get it in there that it was working. Anyone could see it. All that experience.
Anyway, Oscar tried to make a war of it, but Mayweather ran and thus it was not an entertaining fight.

Good bye to Diego Corrales. I could hardly believe this when I heard it. I guess that motor cycles are dangerous. I just keep hearing about them getting hit by people who don't see them.
I will miss him a lot. One of my favorite fighters for sure, for his heart, and blood, and extremely well spoken manner.

Where are all the Miranda fans? Yeah, he's gonna take everyone. Where are the pantera nut huggers.
Miranda is fun to watch, and has raw power, but that's it. It's raw, he is not at all refined in anyway. When Pavlick started blasting him he hand no idea what to do backing up except cover up. I also noticed the way Miranda punches is very odd, almost slaps like Calzaghe, but unlike Calzaghe he couldn't avoid getting hit.
Since Miranda is kind of a dirty fighter, I was glad to see him get leveled by the better fighter.
I've been a Pavlick fan for a little while in the middleweight division. But I didn't know he had such a good chin. Miranda busted him up a little bit, as evidenced by his bleeding nose. But that Boy has got a chin. Pavlick also had a tacticians gameplan and it worked.
It makes me wonder if Miranda even plans or watched tape for fights because I think he believes raw strength can just win it. It was a great fight to watch though. Had a lot of exciting elements for fight fans.

Jermaine Taylor needs to quit fighting guys he knows are not going to make exciting fights. The Wright fight was definitely exciting. The Ouma fight not at all and this last fight I knew Spinks was not going to trade by any means.
Steward says Taylor is the meanest fighter he has ever seen when they are in the gym. Just flat out ruthless. And coming from Tommy Hearns power that's saying something - How does this get lost in his fights?
