Seriously how is Taylor going to command anything...

From the top draws in the sport after this Saturday. Sure he has leverage with an opponent like Pavlik or any other contenders. But since he is looking for the big money paydays how can he claim leverage over Calzaghe or any other top draw? Did anyone see the fight? Taylor did nothing to a smaller guy who shouldnt be fighting at 160 anyways. Showed no aggression or the athletic ability that Taylor use to show in his fights..He lost his poise and finesse in the ring which some people believe was attributed to fighting lower level opponents on his way up..Just a case of looking good against subpar fighters...In his last 4 or 5 fights he has looked lackluster, Spinks outboxed Taylor (waits for hate) and to top it off he demands Calzaghe to come to his country to fight him? Did anyone take a look at the arena the upper half wasnt full and even ringside was missing a few seats in between and 2 ringside seats sold for 200 dollars 5 rows away from the ring a week before the fight...

Can anyone explain how you can command 10 million dollars when you cant sell out an arena when you are practically in your backyard and your opponent is as well?

Any top draw now has leverage in their fight with Taylor when it comes to money...

Im a fan of Taylor a big fan but his past few fights have been anything but championship caliber...

well I can see you are a Spinks fan, and that's cool. I think Cory is a great boxer. As for JT, he is Dibella'ss(misspell intended) guy and will be push because he beat the guy who beat the guy..ad nauseum. If he doesn't fight Pavlik next(I think he will), he should fight Joe because according to him he wants the $$ and Wales will come out in droves to see this fight. Lou Dibella needs to put down his bank statement and matzoball soup and make Calzaghe-Taylor!!!

I am a Spinks fan but I am not slow to bash a fighter I like. I know Spinks draws a lot of criticism and I even lay it on him sometimes but I am not a nuthugger of him..Just appreciate his boxing skills and willing to acknowledge and accept defeat. But moving along...Taylor showed no class Saturday IMO by publicly stating its all about the money..Everyone knows its about the money but being a champion and trying to respect the sport like Jermain says he does he shouldnt be blatant about it and say it like that...Jermain lost respect from me as a champion by saying that...But Spinks isnt a draw outside of St. Louis we all know that. But Jermain believes in his fights with Hopkins and Wright he has star power now. But after his showing in Memphis by the boos and the turnout of the crowd and even the cheering for Cory (because he was the most active) Taylor is anything but a draw and to think to find this guy fighting on PPV scares me...Because it will be just to cover his purse which he isnt deserving of...Plus if he truly wants Calzaghe, Frank Warren and Joe just got leverage to have the fight in their backyard since its all about the money and they need to go where it will generate the most.

He's not commanding. He's looking for a way out. Taylor (or his people) have finally realised that facing Calzaghe is going to destroy their cash cow, so they are looking for ways to get out of the fight. Deciding that all of a sudden they dont want to go to the UK (whatever the money) is their way of doing that.

You saw the best Taylor could do against Spinks. Who has he ever soundly beaten?? Please don't bring up the has-beens or never was. His record is padded. What is he gonna do if, as he's hoping Calzaghe really hasn't slowed down. Fight Pavlik or Miranda? Nah!! I'll bet he'll skip over them and fight another nobody as long as they'll keep giving him 1-6 million a fight. Maybe a rematch with Spinks?? You know so he can really prove this time he's the best middlewight in the world, maybe even the best ever!! HeY maybe he can call Hagler out of retirement.

A rematch with Spinks would be diastrous...Even though Taylor was hitting harder I actually had the fight scored for Spinks because of him being so active...Not being biased but seriously Taylor just stood their looking at him while Spinks was moving around the ring and pot shotting him...The 12th round was just ****** for Cory and Taylor..I was embarrassed to be a Spinks fan during that 12th round.

I can actually see Taylor looking at the Winky/Hopkins winner as his next opponent...If Dibella wants to milk that cash cow he better stay away from Calzaghe...Calzaghe will own him in 6.

If you werent being biased, then you would not have scored it for Cory.
