    Don't get overexcited about Pavlik

Before the Pavlik-Miranda fight, a lot of people were getting very excited about Miranda and obviously it turns out now overrating him quite a bit. Don't make the same mistake with Pavlik.

Pavlik has some very good qualities. He throws a high volume of punches, high variety, very good power, lots of heart, and a good chin. This being said, his handspeed and footwork aren't anything special, and most of all he gets hit with A LOT of punches. He was getting tagged clean all the time when he fought Jose Luis Zertuche, and he got hit a lot by Mranda as well. He kicked Miranda's ass, and it was a great performance of course, but Pavlik keeps his chin pretty high in the air with his hands down.

Pavlik is a guy is obviously very exciting to watch and makes for thrilling fights, and I think his fan base is going to build very quickly, but there are definately weaknesses that the right opponent could exploit and I think he might be hit with an upset before too long like what happened to Miranda. I would definately pick Taylor over Pavlik.

HE does everything right. I thought his footwork was excellent in the fight. He never seemed off balance ever. He is a bit slow, but when one of those punches lands you feel it throught screen.

I would also Pick Taylor of Pavlik, but i certainly wouldnt coutn Pavlik out. Pavlik would make the fight into an all out war, and the closest thing to war TAYLOR has been in is agianst WRIGHT.

    And PAVLIK hits harder

BUt, when did PAVLIK ever keep his hands down and his chin up?

while I dont see a guy who beat b-hop twice or drawed with winky getting beat by a guy named pavlik. I will say this: Taylor should be worried about Pavlik cuz dat white boy gonna bring the heat.

Now, whoa, calm down. Good performance from Kelly but I mean, seriously, does everything right? The guy does have some serious flaws. Look at his defense. Nothing special, really. He looked good partly because Miranda melted when forced to back up. I mean he really collapsed when forced backwards. Pavlik still has some serious defensive issues and is not that fast. Wide, looping Miranda punches were still hitting him.

He's exciting, and a good puncher, a decent fighter- but I'm going to say he's far from amazing. I'm not sold on the guy.

As far as Taylor..well...if Jermain fights any real middleweight the way he fought Spinks I'd expect him to suck canvas. I'm not a big Taylor enthusiast. He's become quite a disappointment- even to his fans.

He's not flawless, no boxer is. But hes more then capable of destroying Taylors reputation, and taylor knows this. So, taylor won't ever take a fight with Pavlik. It's not the amateurs anymore.

i don't like hype. i always said miranda is a hyp, a strong fighter but over hyped. So is margarito. But pavlik isn't hype, he has got good qualitys to become a great middleweight
