Why would Calzaghe want to fight Pavlik? It wouldn't make any sense for him to do it. No money, no prestige, nothing. Pavlik is a middleweight contender. Jermaine is champ (no matter how lacklustre a champ he may be). Taking on the undisputed middleweight champ at 168 lbs is a big fight. Taking on a middleweight contender at 168 lbs is pointless. There are contenders at super-middle that Calzaghe could be taking on first. Calzaghe failing to fight Pavlik does not mean he is avoiding Pavlik (which is I know what you were hinting at).
