    Jermaine Taylor = Mason Dixon?

Just finished watching Rocky Balboa and Mason Dixon made me think of Jermaine Taylor. Not only are both promoted by Lou Dibella, but the public has pretty much given up on both fighters. The difference is that Dixon was a heavyweight that was atleast knocking his opponents out, Taylor has yet to show that kind of aggression as champion. Will a near 60 year old Marvin Hagler have to come out of retirement to help Taylor fix his public image? LOL.

Seriousy though, has anyone seen any real improvement out of Taylor since hiring Manny? I expected to see him fix up certain aspects of his fundamentals, but Taylor still does the same things. Also, he doesn't seem to have a very good boxing IQ or have the ability to execute a gameplan, he wasn't following Manny's instructions from the corner or showing the sense of urgency that Manny was trying to get out of him. I predict that he loses his next to fight to the impressive Kelly Pavlik, who has potential to rule the middleweight division.

BTW, just like with Arturo Gatti or Ricardo Mayorga, I don't care how many times Miranda loses, I will certainly continue to be a fan of his, and would love to see him fight Taylor still or as some suggest take a tuneup fight then rematch with Abraham.

Taylor has gotten worse since he has started working with Steward.

Agreed, he seemed to have regressed since getting Steward. I actually think Steward would be a better trainer for Kelly Pavlik than he would be for Jermaine. Pavlik seems more like a Manny type of guy.
