    PAVLIK's Power UNDERRATED?

    Prior to MIRANDA, I always thought it was possible that PAVLIK hit even harder then MIRANDA.

    And judging by that showing, im pretty sure im correct. He obliterated a guy KNOWN for his chin and toughness and heart. He knocked him clean out.

    But still, it doesnt LOOK like he hits so hard, even though his hands seem really heavy.

    So do you think a guy like TAYLOR, or ABRAHAM, would completely overlook the power aspect of a fight with PAVLIK?

    Cause if Taylor fight PAVLIK, PAVLIK would the hardest puncher he ever faces and considering HOPKINS was able to hurt TAYLOR, I think PAVLIK (if lands a few flush shots) would be able to really hurt Taylor.

    And PAVLIK also showed he's got that power in both hands, the 2nd and 3rd knock downs were from short left hooks

      Yes, and remember in Pavlik's previous fight, Zertuche had never even been knocked down before, and Pavlik knocked him out? Zertuche wasn't the fastest fast boxer but he has a very strong chin.

      Pavlik hits very hard.

        He's not a one punch, get you outta there kind of guy...but he does have very consistent power in both hands. If you watched him crush Zuniga or McKart you could have seen that too.

          He throws punches the right way, MIranda does not. Oldgringo is right though, it's not one-punch power, he's not the second-coming of Julius Jackson.

          But he boxes and throws consistently clean punches which is more important than head-hunting. I expect he would knock Taylor out, yes. Not Abraham though, whose defense is better.

            Pavlik is ambidextrous

            Pavlik is ambidextrous, which means he can throw a football and or write with either hands.

            So needless to say he can hurt you with either hand. Imagine if you are right handed being able to throw your left hand jab just as hard.

            His power and speed are deceiving until you see him in person or get hit by him.

            Apparently he split one of his heavy bags wide open during training, granted he had been using it for some time, but who does that?

            Pull the transcripts of his opponents post fight interviews, they all the same thing! He hit them harder than they have ever been hit.

              IMO:

              explosive power: ur punches are short and precise and do great amounts of damage. the power comes from ur speed. mike tyson and manny pacquiao are perfect examples.

              raw power: you put everything you have into each punch. ur muscle mass and aggression generate this power. edison miranda and david tua are perfect examples.

              heavy handed: ur punches are rather unremarkable but are much more damaging than they appear. the power comes from ur natural size. vitali klitschko, corrie sanders, and kelly pavlik are perfect examples.

                Miranda=Power
                Pavlik=Strength

                Pavlik's work to the body in the first round was what made Miranda look like **** there after. Pavlik would land a big right to the chin followed by a brutal left hook to the body. He did this about 3 times and that is what set up the tko victory. It was sort of by chance, it was his fundamentals that got him this exciting victory.

                Don't be surprised if a rematch looks very different than the first fight. Pavlik was dazed by the first right Miranda landed.I was very impressed with Pavlik's chin but when Miranda landed his big shots he wasn't at full force already.

                    After I saw him knock Zertuche out cold on his feet, I knew he had some serious power.
