    Taylor's Power Over-rated?

Hey guys, I'm not trying to bash on Taylor and I'm not hating. I'm asking a legit question, is Taylor's power over-rated? Spinks got dropped by Judah. Judah also hurt Spinks a few times. I've also seen Spinks noticeably stunned and also rocked in quite a few fights.

My point is that I dont think anyone would argue that Spinks has a great beard. With that said Taylor landed some clean leather starting in the 5th. I didn't see Spinks get stunned or hurt.

We also know that Taylor could't take out Ouma even though he landed tons of clean leather on him. At the time I just thought it was because of Ouma's great beard. But Ouma has also been KD at jrMW.

But after this fight with Spinks I am thinking that it wasn't just Ouma's chin and heart it was also partially due to Taylor's lack of power. I think Taylor's power is seriously over-rated.

I was never actualy under the impression that Taylor had power. Honestley in his last 4 fights he hasnt come close to hurting anyone.

My same argument after the Ouma fight. I think if he lands consistently with his punches he could evdntually get you out. But he's not good enough to land at a great rate.

Actually coming up he was considered to be a young, very strong fighter with tremendous power.

if you watch Floyd Mayweathers early fights the were refering to him as a "strictly power puncher, but he can box if he needs too". Moral of that story.
The experts dont know what they are talking about because they arnt the ones taking the punches.

I would expect Taylor to hit alot harder than he does since he has Emanuel Steward as his trainer, but his strong point seems to be a really good jab.

Thats really all he has is a really good jab. His footwork isnt great, he defense isnt great, hes not particularly fast, he doesnt seem to hit particularly hard, but when he pumps out his jab in volume, he usualy seems to win.

in 28 fights, hes gone the distance 11 times. and never once did he really have an impressive knockout.

yes, taylor's power is overrated, much like taylor himself.

Taylor was too slow, but being a 'real' middleweight thats expected.
