    The Taylor/Manny gameplan

I really don't understand why Manny didn't try to give his fighter the correct advice. Taylor was obviously frustrated by Spink's speed and just couldn't catch up with the guy.

The answer, which I heard HBO say once suprisingly, BODY PUNCHES. Taylor couldn't hit spinks in the face so he should have started wailing on his body. I saw a total of TWO body shots from Taylor. Spinks also made a mistake by not hitting to the body. Sorry but Taylor would have had a KO if he hit to the body, slowed Spinks, then went to the face in the later rounds.

Pretty goofy that Manny doesn't teach Taylor to work the body in his training.

Actually... I can't think of a single Manny fighter that does at least OKAY body work.

It has always seemed to me that Manny has been better for heavier fighters than smaller fighters. His style suits HW the best. Taylor has all the physical tools you could ask for, but he fights like a big, clubbing HW.

Ive always thought and still do think that Manny is the most overrated trainer of all time. The only guy he ever really brought up was Hearns and he was just a straight up freak anyway. All the other great guys Manny ever had are already great and most of the time are champs when he takes over. To me he doesnt make any of them that much better and half the time it doesnt look like there better at all. His guys lose or get exposed alot also.

As for the fight tonight, I also think Spinks southpaw style gave Taylor a ton of trouble. He's faced Lefty's before but all of them were guys who come straight at you. Its nothing like facing a guy like Spinks. The main problem though is that Taylor is just highly uncoordinated so it doesnt really matter what you teach him because he doesnt have the coordination to do it properly. He'll just have to get by on his natural physical attributes of speed & power

Different trainers are good at different things. Manny is good at making guys hit like nobodys business. I think he is probably alot better in the gym that in the corner.
