    Pantera vs The Pretty Boy?

and no I dont mean in a real fight. My point in this thread is again to rip the boxing media and fans for there love of brawlers and hate of boxers. Miranda, like so many before him and sure to be after, is another one demensional fighter who gets all the media & fan love but is here one second and gone the next. Im sick of seeing boxers like Floyd get ripped but yet guys like Miranda get all the love and then are quickly exposed just like Mayorga.

The fact is that guys like Floyd, Winky, Hopkins, and so on are complete fighters with great D who stand the test of time and can compete with anyone on the highest level but yet all we do is rip there styles and brag about these super Offensive guys who always eventually get exposed and look like complete garbage in the end. I love Mosley and he's a great fighter but he too got exposed against most of the elite guys he's faced. He's one deminsonal and all Offense.

Its like Max Kellerman use to say. Everytime these guys with big KO power and fight all Offensive we fall in love with them. There the guys who blow people out and look so exciting while the other top guys look boring. By watching them you always think that if they meet then the exciting fighter will destroy the other guy but yet the other guy is way more complete and always exposes the exciting fighter. Thats why I find it funny when people think a guy like Margarito will beat Floyd just because he's all Offense and is somewhat exciting. He too will soon get exposed just like the rest of these guys. The bottom line is stop sweating & overrating these kind of fighters and stop dissing the boring guys when its clear that in the end, they are always the better fighter. So many of these Miranda guys come along and are gone as quick as they come but people forget all the hype they had, just like Julio & Bojado. Instead of appreciating the art of the sweet science, we constantly rip them and tell them that they have to brawl or have no place in boxing. Merchant sounded so dumb tonight when he said that. I guess most of you would love for the sport to be full of a bunch of one hit offensive wonders like Miranda but I will talk the guys who have mastered the science and are complete fighters any day

Floyd is my favorite fighter of all time. Bernard coming in second.

As for tonight I wasn't angry at Spinks. He fought the smart fight and almost won. Cory knew he could only win by outboxing Jermain. But he is gonna have to engage a little more if he actually wants his face on TV anymore.

Dont get me wrong, Im not talking about all cases. There are some exceptions. Pac is basically like that but he's still a beast, although I do think that he wouldnt be nearly as good if he wasnt a southpaw. Im a Spinks fan also but tonight he didnt do much of anything. It was just a mismatch that shouldnt have happened. Tonight Spinks fought his normal fight but he was way too gun shy because he thought Taylor could really hurt him. This fight shouldve never been made and had stinker written all over it

Very good post. Its real BOXING fans that appreciate the great fighters. Guys who only like watching people get KO'd are the ones who will never truly appreciate the art of boxing. Its so damn apparent that guys like Miranda, Margarito and Jeff Lacy are going to eventually run up against a real boxer and get embarrased, but they are the ones getting all the love (sadly).
